Dear Arnies Airsoft news, Hello and welcome to the Christmas GMA newsletter.

Ooops again, we missed Novembers news letter but we’re here now.  What a couple of mad months, with the forum being hacked and down for nearly 2 weeks and tyres being stolen…no really tyres…please help yourself! December has come just in time.  November was busy as hell with games going on everywhere across Gunman and we got to play on a new event venue in Hertfordshire.  165acres of mixed woodland, forest and fields, with tracks for vehicles all around it!  Awesome is all I can say.  As always a huge thanks to all of you for your support, especially as the weather has been shocking and guys still need their GMA fix.

GUNMAN MEMBERSHIP-Update
Next year will see the new GUNMAN Gold Membership starting 1st Jan.
Cost £50 a month – paid via S/O from your bank on the 1st of every month.
What do I get?
• Shoot all you can at any GUNMAN Airsoft open day weekends.
• Up to £20 off any GUNMAN event or FILMSIM main event ran at a Gunman site.
• Free GUNMAN Membership which you need for UKARA membership (membership will cost £10 a year as of next year, this includes renewals)
• Discount on pre-ordered BBs and Pyro.
• A GUNMAN Gold Card (you will need to supply a passport size photo) which will validate you as an air softer.

You MUST sign up for a minimum of 6 months a time and make a guaranteed payment for those 6 months, after that you can choose to opt out and go back to pay as you go.  Your Membership will still be valid until renewal!

RETAIL – Target Action Supplies
Blimey is all I can say.  We have had to do a restock every week and I’m getting loads of offers on cool kit.  This will never be big as a permanent shop but we have in the past stocked as many as 40 rifles in the field.  I’ll be happy if by next year we have 15-20 rifles and around 5-10 pistols on display.  Also, we can take orders for kit and offer good discounts if paid up front.  See here for more info http://gunmanforum.com/index.php?showforum=210

December 1983
The build up to Christmas is here and Europe takes a pause from fighting as the inclement weather descends on Central Europe. World War 3 is still in its early stages and the fighting men of the RUR have been given some down time at a Company HQ in the old supply port near Rotterdam. Whilst on stand down, the men have been put on light security duties and given 2 weeks R&R, but will remain posted on the British reserves list.

NATO has had a result in the Middle-East with a small but poignant victory in Afghanistan. An oil refinery and Well has been captured in Kandahar and given a direct boost to NATO fuel concerns. Keen to bolster their own supply lines, as well as their NATO Allies in NORTHTAG, the United States refit their fastest Oil tanker available, and start doing shuttle runs from the Middle-East to Europe. The USS ‘Gulf of Mexico’ code-named: "HARVESTER" and her cargo would be the much needed life-line to the troops fighting on the front line.

The port is responsible from the Fuel being shipped to the front lines, however the oil must first be refined, and the only Refinery in the area which hasn’t been leveled by WARPAC high level bombers is positioned a short drive from the port. There is a Convoy of US oil tanker lorries on route to the depot to take the oil for refining. The convoy is expected at 1030 hrs.

A light US ground crew (Logistical Corps and MPs) have been posted as a support unit to the unloading and reloading of the Oil from to the supply ship onto the trucks, whilst the RUR are positioned elsewhere on the base cashing in their down time.
Unbeknownst to the NATO forces, a Russian Submarine has dropped off a small unit of Spetnaz a few miles off the coast line. Their objective is classified and will be accessible only via a private section on the forum.
This is a full Red Mist event and all the rules will apply. All NATO and War Pact units can be involved and let’s take 1983 into 1984 with a bang.

Site News and game days.

All the sites will be getting an early build day scheduled in 2013 so keep an eye out of a news letter update.

Operations weekends
Hi guys, we have a new style of game that has been tried and tested at Eversley for the past 6 months.  Operations weekends will feature long running stories that are played over the weekend and lead on to the following month and you can do one day or the weekend.  The missions can take anything for 30 mins to 2hrs to play out and due to the organic nature of this style of game, may well change its course and outcome, these games are not fixed or rigid, but flow naturally which is what makes them work so well.
All the usual Filmsim elements rules apply with the addition of Desert or Tan clothing being worn.  We would rather guys make an effort to look like the side they are playing but it’s not essential.  We have a huge pile of desert and green MARPAT for free rental if you have nothing.  The sides will fill up via the booking threads on the forums and we ask everyone to be a bit flexible with which side they play on, but we will always try to keep groups or mates together.

More cargo boxes have arrived and a site clearance has been done.  Looking great;)

Norwich news
Nothing to report but planning is still pending via an Appeal.

Eversley news
This site is a great site and looking awesome.  A few more areas have been cleared.

BANDAGES, for GOD SAKE– Again!!!  Guys, if you play Filmsim regularly please start bringing your own bandages with you.

Can guys please try to get on site for 8.30 to get signed in and crono.  We are still getting guys turn up after 9.30 which is briefing time and with the night’s drawing in we will start to end around 3.30pm on game days.

Word from the front
Hi all, as you may be aware we are making a massive effort to reshape GUNMAN and get on top of our Admin and signing in process, also make it easier for guys to book on and pay online.  The idea is to make it more professional and stream lined.  The website will get a new look next year and the forum re-skinned to match.
