Dear Arnies Airsoft news, Hello and welcome to the 2013 GMA newsletter.

Good bye 2012 and welcome 2013, Hi all and welcome back.  We hope you all had a great end to the year and now need to shoot guns again.  Gunman is a busy as ever this year, with more sites on the horizon and loads of events as well as open days, the community is growing fast and so is the forum.  The weather last year was the worst I’ve ever known it in 20 years of running events and yet we still had solid support across the country at our games and ran no matter the weather….how very British we are;)

2013 will see more and more changes in the field, new props and scenarios and the launch of our new Ops weekends at Tuddenham and their continuing running at Eversley.  The forum is busy as ever and new ifo is going up all the time, so again thanks you to all of you for your support.

GUNMAN MEMBERSHIP

Standard membership will cost £10 a year.  Payment can be made via PayPal (sales@gunmanairsoft.co.uk and quote your number and/or your name) or cash on the day.  UKARA memberships will not get renewed unless this is paid.  We have supported the UKARA since its start but it’s becoming more time consuming hence the £10 a year fee.

This year will see the new GUNMAN Gold Membership starting 1st Jan.
Cost £50 a month – paid via S/O from your bank on the 1st of every month.
What do I get?
• Shoot all you can at any GUNMAN Airsoft open day weekends.
• Up to £20 off any GUNMAN event or FILMSIM main event ran at a Gunman site.
• Free GUNMAN Membership which you need for UKARA membership (membership will cost £10 a year as of next year, this includes renewals)
• Discount on pre-ordered BBs and Pyro.
• A GUNMAN Gold Card (you will need to supply a passport size photo) which will validate you as an air softer.

You MUST sign up for a minimum of 6 months a time and make a guaranteed payment for those 6 months, after that you can choose to opt out and go back to pay as you go.  Your Membership will still be valid until renewal!

February 2-3 2013

Its 1902 and the Montana hills have become rife with Gold mania, settlers from all over the state have rushes to yet another gold rush. Our story takes us to the basin of Mt Lustrous and to the running streams of the Black Hawk forest. Here travelers have set up camps and the begging’s of a settlement is forming. John Paris holds the deeds and the Banker holds the cash.

In the Last episode of Flying Leads ‘White Powder’

Dam that eating house and casino was a good night in the camp ma! And I can see the devil in their whiskey even with the fear of it going dry. Drinking, cards and singing m lungs out all night I was. Only black coffee and a days grafting the pans put me right again. What a life i’, living here. Pa says we will be back next spring as the winter here is going be a hard one. Shingle springs is still a growing though!

Now we have had some trouble from those ill dealing folk from the other side of the creek and there is a new devil in camp that makes people good for nothing! The Marshall says she’s in control but I aint sure. Peabody was light for workers yet the Jameson and Jameson concern is full steam ahead. That southern Colonel fella and Mr Paris are carving themselves up some good trade. Also, new shop fronts are being built so can only think some new business is about to open.

Pinkerton agency fella’s are still all over the place and with the rail roads still on hold they have been up to all sorts of mischief to keep themselves occupied. Good job too, don’t need trained killers bored in the camp.

Welcome to the Wild West…

Game times.
We will kick off Friday night with a social round the camp and get stuck into the game Saturday from 10am. Guns away at dusk with a time out at 10am. Sunday starts at 9am and plays through till 2pm.

This is a full on role play event with very little shooting, if that’s not your bag please don’t book on.

Arrival on site from Friday at 12pm. I know a lot of guys will want to set up camps and props, so you can arrive anytime after 12pm on Friday. Also although the game starts early in the morning that doesn’t mean you have to get onto business, it means everyone should be in character and absorbed in the game. We ask everyone to make a massive effort to make the game look good and try to hide all modern things (or just try to survive for one weekend without them).

Canvas tents are fine, even military green/brown ones are ok and can be put up anywhere in the game.
Plastic tent must be put up away for the main event area; a plastic camping area will be set up near the safe zone.

Guns and kit must look period or on the acceptable list, which means a real effort needs to have been made. We have piles of free rental kit if anyone needs it.

Site News and game days.

All the sites will be getting an early build day scheduled in 2013 so keep an eye out of a news letter update.

Operations weekends
Hi guys, we have a new style of game that has been tried and tested at Eversley for the past 6 months.  Operations weekends will feature long running stories that are played over the weekend and lead on to the following month and you can do one day or the weekend.  The missions can take anything for 30 mins to 2hrs to play out and due to the organic nature of this style of game, may well change its course and outcome, these games are not fixed or rigid, but flow naturally which is what makes them work so well.
All the usual Filmsim elements rules apply with the addition of Desert or Tan clothing being worn.  We would rather guys make an effort to look like the side they are playing but it’s not essential.  We have a huge pile of desert and green MARPAT for free rental if you have nothing.  The sides will fill up via the booking threads on the forums and we ask everyone to be a bit flexible with which side they play on, but we will always try to keep groups or mates together.

Nothing to report but planning is still pending via an Appeal.

Eversley news
This site is a great site and looking awesome.  A few more areas have been cleared.

BANDAGES, for GOD SAKE– Again!!!  Guys, if you play Filmsim regularly please start bringing your own bandages with you.

Can guys please try to get on site for 8.30 to get signed in and crono.  We are still getting guys turn up after 9.30 which is briefing time and with the night’s drawing in we will start to end around 3.30pm on game days.

Word from the front
Hi all, 2013 is going to see a bit of growth in Gunman and means I won’t be able to visit every site, every weekend as much as I would like.  However, we have got one,  if not the, best team in the game and the quality of the games just keeps getting better.

Night games were a bit of a shambles in 2012 with us unable to fill 5 slots on a game, but we will try again in the 2013spring/ summer.  Also we are toying with running an open day skirmish on the Monday at the end of month for guys stuck working every weekend but still want to shoot, so keep your eyes posted.
