SHOT SHOW 2013 – FINAL OVERVIEW
The Shot Show 2013 Convention is over, and the vendors, retailers, and media have all made their exodus out of Las Vegas, Nevada. This year’s convention was jam packed with exciting new products from leading airsoft manufacturers and distributors, such as KWA, Spartan Imports, Magpul PTS, ICS, Palco/ Cybergun, Umarex USA, and G&G USA just to name a few. Airsoft Megastore’s crack team of video personalities made sure to cover every minute of it, making sure to bring you the latest news about new products, release dates, and future plans from the biggest names in airsoft. If you haven’t kept up with our extensive and ongoing coverage of Shot Show 2013, you can watch all of our videos here or on our YouTube channel!One of the most popular airsoft new releases at Shot Show 2013 was the LMG Chainsaw AEG by ARES, featured at the Z-Shot booth, and will be released by the end of 2013. Another airsoft gun that received a lot of attention was the prototype of King Arms’ new gas blowback Thompson submachine gun, which may be released by 2013, and is by far the most realistic Thompson airsoft gun on the market!
Some new products on the horizon from KWA for 2013 are the long awaited ERG (Electric Recoil Gun) AEGs, as well as their line of new gas blowback pistols including the ATP Auto, MKV, 1911A1 U.S. Army, 945 Compact, and possibly even the new Sphinx SDP PTP! KWA says they will also be releasing their new gas blowback AKG-74 series airsoft rifles, and may even release their gas blowback Magpul Masada!
From Heckler & Koch to Red Jacket Firearms, Umarex USA is releasing a wide array of unique airsoft guns in 2013. Umarex will be releasing a new line of VFC manufactured, fully licensed MP5 AEGs, complete with a mechanical three round burst feature! They will also be releasing three Red Jacket airsoft guns, including a custom CO2 blowback 1911 pistol, a unique SRC manufactured AK-74, as well as a Red Jacket M4 AEG. Umarex has also secured IWI’s trademarks, and will be releasing their own TAR-21 AEGs as well as fully licensed UZIs. We were also able to get a first glimpse of Umarex USA’s prototype shell for their Beretta ARX-160 AEG!
One of the most innovative airsoft products at Shot Show were the new ICS rifled grenade rounds, allowing players to send airsoft grenades over 150 feet downrange! We were also able to get our hands on an actual production model of the ICS M1 Garand AEG! And finally, we took a look at Spartan Imports’ latest offerings, including VFC’s new M&P .40 Sub-Compact gas blowback pistol, as well as their new line of Vietnam Era AEGs manufactured by G&P.
