RedWolf Airsoft have some interesting news about the brand new Rare Arms XR25:
RARE ARMS XR25 SATISFIES COLLECTOR FANTASIES @ REDWOLF AIRSOFT
If you live in the USA and use Airsoft primarily to skirmish, then you can stop reading this now. The Rare Arms XR25, built in the likeness of a Knights Armament SR25 rifle (a Chris Costa favorite), was never meant for you. Defining the other side of the spectrum from Polarstar is the RARE ARMS XR25. Whereas Polarstar guns are hugely advantageous in skirmishes but offer zero feeling or shooting experience of ANY kind, the RARE ARMS XR25 boasts the most realistic shooting experience with recoil and ejecting metal shells just like the real thing. Sure, this all comes at the cost of an arm and a leg in a very complicated mechanism that requires religious maintenance, and perhaps sacrificing power and accuracy. But this gun was never targeted at the gamer market, but instead appeals to those who live in countries where real gun ownership can only ever be a fantasy. In other words, this gun is designed to fulfill dreams. Some might say this does not even count as an Airsoft gun, and perhaps they could be right. This is more akin to a prop gun that happens to shoot BBs.
You may not have heard of RARE ARMS. The man behind it is a seasoned engineer, who is responsible for most of the successful gas rifles coming out of Taiwan. Many factories do not have a lot of gas blowback rifle experience, and look to him for help. He has led many projects for other brands in Taiwan that we cannot mention here. But suffice to say, this SR25 is only one in a long line of products he has designed and released to market for other companies.
For many Airsoft collectors who live in Asian countries, or even in the UK and France where owning a real AR is an impossibility, this is the next best thing! And while most will gasp at the price, keep in mind this is a low production model with many complicated parts to make this all work without the explosive power of gunpowder. Full CNC aluminum body and some steel components make this a highly rigid and hefty rifle. The steel magazines are an absolute joy to load (again, if you are a gamer, this part probably doesn’t appeal to you, nor does the idea of picking up the shells). And as if Rare Arms knew that was the main joy of this gun, they included 2 magazines and 30 rounds for you to play with!
Again, if you live in the USA or countries where you can drive down the street to buy a real AR for several hundred dollars, this gun probably does not make sense to you. But for the rest of the world, our dream has finally come true!
