Airsoftology Episode #24: “Embedded”
December 15th, 2009
by Jonathan

Jonathan and Steve are back for another great show full of news, rumors, questions and reviews…  And Intern Patrick joins us in the 3rd seat.

He’s been a part of the show for a while behind the scenes, and we finally got the little bugger behind the microphone…and he does a darn respectable job.

EmbeddedAirsoftOh, and if you couldn’t tell from the photo here, we talk about our friend (and teammate) Lamar and his (now famous) embedded BB nose shot. This is a BB hit that will go down in the airsoft history books.

Oh yeah, Jonathan finally found a way to get the international orders going for the show patches. So, if you are outside the United States, and have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to get your patch.  Now’s your chance! And you better hurry if you have been holding out, we have less than 25 sets left of the original 200 order.  Once they are gone, they are gone… and we’ll have new designs in their place.

Informative with a touch of humor, we break down the news, reviews and questions you want to hear.

You can download or listen to the show by choosing your option below.

Show Notes:

News:

1. Some airsoft players are working on a game show, and we like the idea.  It’s called Mission Milsim, and they are pitching it to the Discovery Channel in the US….All the info to help get it off the ground is here.

2. Echo 1 is set to release a new AEG on the 18th of December.  It’s  called the Platinum series; has mostly aluminum parts, ships in a hard plastic case, has 2 magazines and includes E1’s upgraded gearbox.

3.  The new TM G36K is now available for preorder at Redwolf. Complete with “Enhanced” optics and the recoil shock feature, it looks like Marui is making sure that their presence is still known in the airsoft world.

4. Dreaming of a vacation with your loved one to Hong Kong in 2010 and experiencing an airsoft game in Hong Kong? For every order at WGC Shop during 3 Dec 2009 to 3 Feb 2010, you are entitled one chance at the draw. But there’s a catch: your order has to amount to US$888 or above to gain a chance of winning a pair of round trip tickets. Plus: 8% OFF on EVERYTHING for everyone, and 10 lucky winners get 15% off too! Not bad at all!

5.  The new G2X KWA M4A1 has been announced that it will be on sale at most authorized retailers this week. The M4A1 CQB and M4 S-System will be joining along side it, as well as the rest of the new lineup that is already out.  Pick yours up at your favourite retailer.

6. From the “better late than never” department:  The Madbull KRISS might just finally be a real product.  We’re holding our breath until the 2010 shot show to see the finished product.7. Have you seen the newest addition to the historical airsoft world?  It’s the PPSH-41, in its full steel and wooden glory. (warning, slow link) It’s also teased in more affordable form on the ebairsoft.com main page.

A big thanks goes out to our Roving Airsoft Reporters this week:

Review

Listener Tim (no, not our Tim) gives us this this show’s review:  The Real Sword SVD.  Listen in for this great run down on a unique AEG, and head over tonoairsoftforoldmen.blogspot.com to read the entire review.

Listener Segment

  1. Matej Writes in asking what kind of powder do you use to fill grenades with? Is it a special sort or can you use something home made? And we deliver the answer.
  2. Eric writes in with a great Geardo Website….  And we agree.  But now we are spending our time there and getting nothing else done.  Thanks a bunch…
  3. Matt writes in for the first time and wanted to tell us about the F.A.S.T. SYSTEM MODEL M4.  For a better visual demonstration of it, here is a quick example from youtube.  A bit pricey, but pretty cool!
