The airsoft manufacturer Ascend Airsoft is a relatively young manufacturer on the airsoft market which is OEM by WE, with the WE made high-quality and modern airsoft replica experience, the Ascend is of course precisely and stably manufactured.The pistol with the designation DP17 is the first work of the ambitious manufacturer and is available in three different versions. An absolute must-have for comic enthusiasts as well as weapon collectors and lovers. At the first glance, the DP17 is immediately recognizable as the special action hero, it has been hydro-dipped in red and black throughout you can see quotes from the character and certain references to the superhero. In order to generate the perfect look, the slide, frame and magazine well have been colored by Ascend Airsoft using a special high computer transfer print process. Thanks to the transfer print process in vintage design, the pistol looks as if it had already survived several missions.
All functions of DP17 are functional as with original pistols. The slide is dismantled using the centrally mounted dismantling lever, and the slide catch integrated trigger safety feature are authentic in their functionality. In addition, the DP17 is also equipped with a transport trigger guard, it’s located below the under-barrel rail and can only be inserted when it is tensioned.
The grip integrated in the pistol frame with a non-slip, roughened surface ensures that the pistol is held securely in every situation. There is also a practical magazine well made of aluminum underneath the handle. This makes reloading the magazine easier and faster because it acts like a funnel.
Besides the slice, the metal parts also include almost all external fittings such as trigger, hammer, outer barrel… as well as almost all internal parts. The modern configuration relies in tough polymer composite plastic for the pistol frame, which does not have to hide from metal because of its robustness. Thanks to the strong gas blowback system and a shot power of up to 1 joule, the pistol is still ideally suited as a back-up. All in all, clearly positive features that show that Ascend Airsoft focuses not only on collectors but also on players.
And then, they released their second unique pistol in August, KP1911. Kimber is an American company that designs and manufactures small arms and they are known for its M1911 style pistol. The KP1911 is a new designed of replica modeled by the new “Kimber’s Rapide Black Ice” which was introduced in 2019 November, and hit the market when it’s out in the early 2020.
The Ascend KP1911 is a combine of the outward appearance by Kimber’s Rapide Black Ice and the interior of WE system. Ascend takes the proven WE M1911 full metal GBB chassis under its wing and turns it into visually very attractive custom airsoft pistols in a modern design. Made in full metal construction including the slides, frames and almost all other parts. And all parts of the Ascend KP1911 are completely compatible with the WE 1911 system.
Very eye-catching and the highlights of the series are the excellent fiber optic glow-sights, stripped grip, sculpted trigger guard and CNC milled slide for weight reduction and super-crisp recoil action. To make the pistol’s look lasts for a long time, the color of the pistol was not simply painted, but anodized as with many other high-quality pistols.
The inside of the KP1911 series is based on the current and reliable WE Mega flow Version 3 gas-blowback shot system to ensure a reliable shot function, and a strong blowback kick is guaranteed again due to the many metal parts. And thanks to the new ultra-precision inner barrel, the shooting precision comes close to that of a Tokyo Marui pistol. The rear structures have an anti-slip and supportive effect when gripping the slide for the clamping process. The slide also comes with green high-contrast fiber optic target sight, which ensure easy and quick sighting in action. The adjustable hop-up system is located on the outer barrel and is adjusted from the inside.
The Ascend KP1911 is a great entry-level option for players that want something that can give them satisfying recoil impulse, modern looks, and easy to use. Or it is also a beautiful made for collectors.
