Paul Monaf has sent over a sample for the new front cover for Airsoft International. Quite a few people will have missed it (I didn’t really know myself till yesterday), but the upcoming magazine previously mentioned on here by the name of ‘Impact’ that is/was coming to press has suffered a slight delay and a name change in the past month with work still in progress on the project.
The magazine is still going ahead with the first issue going to print and then out to stockists in the very near future. Listed on the sample page shown here are details of reviews and tests that will be in the magazine including tests for the G&G M14 and GR16, TM’s SD6, a complete list of all known UK skirmish sites, three site reviews and a heap more. Ladies and Gents,
The owners of the magazine have decided to part company with Freestyle Publishing and publish the magazine via another organisation with circulation to the Airsoft and related trades for the initial 2 to 3 copies before going for a general release via WH Smiths. This is due to a major difference in opinion with Freestyle Publishing which we believe to be detrimental to the quality of the publication.
The magazine will be going to general release after the first couple of issues but because of the nature of the Sport/Hobby WH Smiths have asked for a distribution fee in excess of 30,000.(10k per issue for the first three issues). This is in no way unusual, all magazines that launch through WH Smiths pay for the promotion
We are not asking people to subscribe at this early stage, but support the magazine by purchasing a copy (cover price 3) from your favorite Airsoft Store or Skirmish Site.
Ebcon Publishing have just signed a news trade contract which means that AI will be available through high street stores by late 05 early 06
On sale date 24 June 05.
