What’s happening at Elite Action Games
Price increase
Due to a third increase in our rent we now have no choice but to increase the price from £20 to £25 per walk-on. This will come in to effect on Sunday 4th April 2010. It isn’t something we wanted to do and to be fair we have swallowed the last two years increases.Dorking wins 5 Stars in Airsoft International
In this months Airsoft International we have been awarded the AI Five Star Award, which makes Elite only the 6th site ever to get five out of five. It’s a great bit of recognition for the staff and players and we would like to thank all the staff at AI. We have waited a long time to invite AI down, as Dorking just wasn’t ready. Now we feel it has reached a standard where the gaming areas are interesting enough to ensure that a good day is had by all. Does that mean we will sit on our Loral’s, no we will keep building and developing the site to keep it fresh and interesting.Tour of Duty Dates for 2010
We have plans this year to run three Tour of Duty games in association with AI magazine.
- The first of these will be a Night and Day game starting on the evening of the 10th April ending on the Sunday around 4:30pm. We will be breaking for some shut eye, so please don’t think this is a 24 hour game. US Forces £30 and VC £25 Please see the website for details.
- The second game will be on 5th – 6th June and will be a weekender. US forces £60 and VC £55
- We will announce the third game later in the year. Please see the website for details.
New Safezone after the snow!
Let it snow! Let it snow! No please don’t. White fluffy Christmas’s may look great on a post card, but when it is sitting on your safezone, gravity takes over! So with a bit of head scratching and scrounging of materials, the new safezone at Dorking is well underway. Not only is the new version stronger, it is larger and we are fitting lights to this one, so you will be able to see in those winter months, when the day is over.Plans to expand the playing areas
We are always looking for ways to expand the playing area at Dorking but I don’t want to give too much away, it is our hope to add two to three new areas, and continue to expand the existing ones. There is talk of a WWI trench system and a third village. Plans are both well underway so watch this space….Epsom re-fitted at the end of last year, new structures and barricades plus red lighting!
It was long over due as our attention had been on Dorking for far too long. Epsom has always been a unique playing ground, 17,000 square foot of underground pre war bunker. As with all things subterranean, it can get damp and everything rots. After a few weeks of love and attention, Epsom now boasts a renewed playing environment, the doors are back and new structures have been erected. So much so that plenty of experienced veterans have become confused as to where they are in the site. Plus we have made an amendment to the lights, we’ve always had complete control of the lighting but the added complexity of red light seems to change the whole feel of the place. Making it seem colder and creepy! It adds another element to Epsom that has been greatly received by players.
Worthing – Vandals strike again
For a long time now we have been playing the” demolition derby” with our neighbours in Worthing. We build it they destroy it, unfortunately this trend has not stopped in 2010, as the safezone was yet again destroyed last weekend. Mindless it might be but once again we will rebuild what they tear down.On a plus point Worthing keeps growing week on week, under the expert management of the marshals and team.
