Home Website Updates VCR update

VCR update

by Arnie

I thought it was about time for another update on the VCR Bill, there’s a copy of the Home Office’s VCR Regulatory Impact Assessment in the forums, which I recommend having a read through.

Two good sites to keep an eye on for relevant updates and material are the ABA (http://www.associationofbritishairsoft.org/) and the Save Our Sport campaign (http://saveairsoft.org).

  • The ABA are now recognised stakeholders so are in a position to provide feedback and try to shape the proposed legislation into something that sets out to do what the VCR Bill tries to achieve without hindering the past time of numerous industries, hobbyists and honest individuals. At the moment they are requesting registration at their site as an offer of support from UK residents. The online registration will help add weight to what they have to say in their proposals. No matter what is said or the present outlook, all we can be certain about is that with help they do have a chance to do something worthwhile. If you can, please do pop over to the ABA site and sign on with them.
  • Saveairsoft.org is also still asking for people to download signature sheets, print them off get the signed and then post them back to them. Please print these off, get them signed at your school, college, university, or at the office, local playing site and retail outlet. Valid signatures and input is needed, and again we are in a worse position without the material.

In the meantime, continue to badger your MPs and local government, write to who you think is appropriate and keep the letters going. It all helps and keeps the issue fresh in the minds of those that make the decisions that will matter.
