Operation: Iron Fist – AMS 24hr Milsim 16/17 June

Dan has mailed in with news of a 24 hour milsim event that’s taking place on the 16th-17th of June. Here’s the details:

Hey guys,

Just thought I’d let you all know that there is another Airsoft Military Simulations (AMS) 24 hour Milsim game coming up at MOD Bramley on the 16th-17th June.

Operation: Iron Fist will be the third AMS game to be held at this venue that boasts some of the most unique features of mixed urban and woodland terrain that you’ll find in the UK. The area comprises some 150 acres of the defunct ammunition storage facility that is now used for survival training by certain ‘special’ units.

AMS games work on small squad tactics of 2 – 10 man teams operating against everyone else. Basically, if you don’t know someone then they’re to be considered hostile. Teams will be assigned a base camp in the area and are expected to operate from there for the duration of the 24hours. Mission overview and individual sub-missions will given to you in sealed envelopes to be opened at the appropriate time. Completion of the various assignments will earn you points. Points may also be earned by ‘killing’ the opposition and taking their ‘life’ cards for totaling at endex. However you choose to play it, you will have the freedom to do so. Missions are not compulsory, nor is getting into firefights. You can be sneaky-sneaky or dakka-dakka, it’s up to you.

The staff at AMS have gone to great lengths to provide stimulating and interesting scenarios with an Oscar worthy cast of role playing characters for your amusement and a number of in-game vehicles and other props.

There are a few player requirements: Unfortunately, no players under the age of 18 (16 and over with prior consent from the game organisor). We would also ask that everyones guns chrono no higher then 350 fps.

We will not be asking people to bring non-winding magazines only, but if you have them and want to, please do. There is a 3000 round limit for riflemen and 6000 for support type weapons for the full 24 hours.

Also, after discussion we’re decided to dispense with the mandatory helmet requirement.

Basically guys, if you’re tired of the standard Sunday skirmish and fancy a slightly more ‘think for yourself’ type affair, give this a go. Believe me, you won’t regret it.
