Sugar cane fuelled cooker sparks interest
A new portable outdoor cooker fired up by a clean sustainable fuel made from sugar cane is set to be a hit at this year’s Outdoor Show in Friedrichshafen, Germany (July 14-17).
UK based survival equipment specialists, BCB International Ltd, have developed a portable field cooker called the ‘Crusader’ which uses environmentally friendly ethanol gel which is made from sugar cane and can boil 500ml of water in less than eight minutes.
Jim Barnaville, BCB International‘s Outdoor Sales Manager said: "The Crusader Cooker is ideal for anyone planning on enjoying the great outdoors because it is lightweight, easy to use, and uses clean sustainable fuel. It has already sparked interest among trekkers.
"Weighing in at 450 grams, the compact Crusader is a lightweight outdoor all in one cooking system that can be easily stowed away in a rucksack. With the Crusader Cooker, outdoor enthusiasts can wave goodbye to wasting time and energy gathering tinder wood because the device comes with Bio-ethanol gel sachets which are easy to light."
The Crusader Cooking system which can be snapped up for less than £50 (approximately 58 euros) contains a Plastic Mug, Water Bottle, Cup, Cup Lid, Cooker, a webbing pouch, 12 Ethanol Fuel Gel Sachets and a flint and striker.
BCB will be showing its ‘Bushcraft’ range of outdoor equipment at Stand B4-502 in Hall B4
