June 2012
Welcome to Gunman Airsoft News

Dear Arnies Airsoft news,
Hi all and welcome to the May GMA newsletter.

Hello May, good bye may…what the hell happened to May? We just got here and it was gone!  May saw the amazing Cold War events, ‘Red Mist 10 – Black Gold’ take on a new theatre of war in our WW3 story.  We all headed off to the awesome UCAP sandpit site to play out a 1980s Afghanistan game and it was the nuts.  Fantastic role-play lead to a very unique cold war experience which found both NATO and War pact having difficulties with their allies.  Great site, great players and a top game.

All the sites are now at full steam ahead with Tuddenham and Norwich hitting good numbers and Eversley still slowly building up.  Plenty of private hire from the airsoft and larp communities means Gunman and the sites are getting more exposure.

Regards, Josh Smith

PRICE DROP!
What’s this is it possible that after 7 years of being £26 we have decided to drop our prices to £25!!! Hell yes.  Also the weekend rate has come down to £40.  However gun rental has gone up to £25 due to the continued poor care given to the rental fleet and ongoing repairs this has had to go up.

Also remember we have a great payment scheme for those playing out more than one game a weekend.  £55 shoot all you can on open days at all three sites and get a £25 discount off any Gunman events.  All you have to do is set up a S/O to the details on the forum and make a guaranteed payment for 6 months, after that you can choose which months to pay.

What’s coming up?
This year is so busy it’s unreal but here is a heads up of what we have on its way in the next 3 month.

Nam in June – ‘Battle for Ia Drang’ features our first open battle weekend for the Nam that sees CPs all over the site that need to be controlled and held to give both sides advantage over each other.  This with all the usual role-play that comes with NAM si going to make an awesome event.

Battlefield ‘Khakand’ at STANTA in July – the game is awesome, the site is one of the best sites in the UK and we have nothing better to do than fight as STANTA is a dry site so no drinking booze!

August sees the return of Fallout and the second part to this amazing Sim.  Set in the UK rather the US, our story still applies all the favourite features of the game but makes them very UK.

There is also a ton of private theme bookings that has taken off this year with Zombie games, Steam Punk and even a Boar war in the offing.  We are always looking for crew for most of these private games so keep your eyes peeled on the forum.

Its 1965 and one of the first major military operations by US is about to take place , lead by Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore and his newly re-established 1st Battalion, 7th Cavalry regiment. Only yesterday all his men were celebration there introduction to the war and saying goodbye to loved ones. Now it’s 10.48 on the morning of the 14 November 1965 and Bravo Company has just touched down at LZ X-ray, There task is to establish the LZ and send out recon units to gather intelligence before the main force lands.

"Look around you. In the 7th Cavalry, we got a captain from the Ukraine, another from Puerto Rico. We got Japanese, Chinese, blacks, Hispanics, Cherokee Indians, Jews and Gentiles—all American. Now here in the States, some men in this unit may experience discrimination because of race or creed, but for you and me now, all that is gone. We’re moving into the valley of the shadow of death, where you will watch the back of the man next to you, as he will watch yours, and you won’t care what color he is or by what name he calls God. They say we’re leaving Home. We’re going to what home was always supposed to be. Let us understand the situation. We’re going into battle against a tough and determined enemy. I can’t promise you that I will bring you all home alive, but this I swear, before you and before almighty God: that when we go into battle, I will be the first one to set foot on the field, and I will be the last to step off. And I will leave no one behind. Dead or alive, we will all come home together. So help me God."

Lieutenant Colonel Hal Moore 1965

This will be the first open battle for a Nam game.

Again a huge thanks to all the guys that help run Gunman and our events, it’s not an easy job but very rewarding.  We are looking for 2 new marshals to join the team at Eversley and help run the end of month weekends. You will have to be able to commit to once a month and be invited to help out on events at Eversley (as well as others if you want).  If you think you can do the job and ready to step up to the plate then email me josh@gunmanairsoft.co.uk
