Shemaghs have been used since man first discovered the camel providing riders with protection from direct sun exposure as well to protect the mouth and eyes from blown dust and sand. For decades Shemaghs have been issued to British soldiers whose use dates back to the Second World War. With the kick-off of the War on Terror, Shemaghs, usually produced in cotton and in military olive drab or khaki with black stitching, have been adopted by US troops in Afghanistan. Our Shemaghs are made from a more comfortable material that provides breathability (important in the heat) and does away with the traditional solid colors (that can create a silhouette and degrade your camouflage scheme) and have used the latest camouflage patterns available.
