Updates from Japan

by Arnie

In random updates it seems that the TanioKoba heavy weight slides for the Marui 5.1 Hi-Capa have sold out already, so if you’re after one you’ll have to have a look around dealers that stock TanioKoba parts to see if they’ve got any stock left.

ANGS have updated their website with news of their RIS grip for the M60 E3/E4 models. There’s going to be 100 of them made, which will be available at the end of February (well… kinda now really).

Expected price is 39,800 Yen and it’s apparently copied from a real unit.

KJ-Head seems to be the product of a new agreement between Head1950 and KJ Works to import the KJ line of pistols into Japan. If I’m reading things right, there’s issue in Japan with full metal handgun replicas, hence the KJ-Head models are going to be half-metal; for example the KJ-Head Vertec model has a metal top slide and barrel whilst the frame is plastic.

Curiously there’s a note to the effect of asking Head1950 customers not to make their KJ-Head pistols full metal presumeably by getting a KJWorks metal frame elsewhere, with reference made to some Japanese gun/sword law. I’m not quite up on Japanese legislation and how it directly affects Airsoft over there myself otherwise I’d fill in between the lines a bit more.
