Popular Airsoft Magazine Vol 1 Issue 12: Ah… WOMEN!

by Arnie

There’s a new issue of Popular Airsoft Magazine out:

The great question that has never been answered, and which I have not yet been able to answer, despite my thirty years of research into the feminine soul, is ‘What does a woman want?’" – from Sigmund Freud: Life and Work by Ernest Jones, 1953

We love them. Hate them. Support them. Envy them. Cherish them. Forget them. Ah, women!

Most of us grew up in a society dominated by men. Several times in our life we hear commentaries about why women belong to the “weaker sex”. We should not forget that a woman’s life is a lot more complicated than men’s. A woman has to take care of her own personal and professional life; and if she is a mother, she has to take care of her children’s life, too.

We at Popular Airsoft Magazine again bring into the airsoft centerstage women that made a name in this game we all love. For the past few years, we have seen the number of lady airsofters grow. Although some are dragged into it by their boyfriends looking for a way to easily escape a Sunday and play, some are very passionate and see the sport as a means of building self confidence. Others have built empires, business empires.

Optimus Prime introduces us to SYSTEMA Engineering’s Lady Boss, Kumi Yoshida. She is at present the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SYSTEMA, the Japanese company that started PTW (Personal Training Weapons) line. A woman in a male-dominated business, she travels in many parts of the world to attend arms exhibits and shows.
A dedicated young lady from the Midlands, Bekki Houghton, sat down with Master Chief for a little tete-a-tete. Read through what she has to say about lady marshals and her opinion on other relevant issues in airsoft.

Based in New York, Kristin Reimer is an award winning wedding photojournalist. Shogun gives us a glimpse at this lady combat airsoft photographer’s inner musings. Kristin, after being a Studio Manager of the famous Elliott Erwitt, went around Asia, staying in Japan to meet new challenges for her craft. In 2002, she established Photomuse, which put her back into wedding photography.

Christina of the  National Airsoft Girls (NAG) from the UK, a group of dedicated individuals whose main aim is to have fun and enjoy the sport we all love, talks about how airsoft has helped them gain fitness, confidence, self-respect and make friends. Learn why, at the end of the day, these Girls just wanna have fun!
