Jon (aka Twitch on the forums) is out in Airsoft-land over in the Japan at the moment and has sent back some news about a interesting bunch by the name of Plum-Project:
I’m not sure if these guys are on your radar, but they seem to be doing something fairly unique: Plum-Project.
In addition to regular AEG-based customs, they also do a range of Armalite conversions using the Sunproject GBB as their base (they also carry some limited spare parts)
…as well as some JAC-based ones at the bottom (although I always gathered they were NBB).
I’ve attached a pic of one of their pieces which was featured in an ARMS product overview recently, and it has a fairly reasonable price-tag of 32,800 Yen, unlike most of the bits offered on their website which seem to be about triple that. There’s contact details on the website, although I wouldn’t know what their English is like.
Plum-Project also have some pics of a couple of BARs, although I’m stumped as to what they’re trying to get at with the “Full Blast” title. Jon, (aka Twitch)
Edit (00:06 17/02/05) Just had an email from E DeRuiter with some clarifications on the above news:
Hey Arnie, there seems to be some confusion about Plum Project’s modifications to the Sun Project / ESCORT GBB M16 series. A few points that were brought up in your news link that should be clarified.
The M4A1 RIS is not 32,800 yen, but the cost of the conversion to a user supplied SP M16A1 carbine (about 60,000 yen). PlumProject will not do any internal work. For 75,000 yen, Plum Project will build a customized M16A1 carbine for you (the price goes up from there if you want an A2 or M4). The customized guns have been changed to use Systema mags and incorporate a working bolt stop. He also tunes them for low pressure use to fit within ASGK 1 Joule guidelines.
The “full blast” option is his sandblasting technique which adds a realisitic texture to the stocks and a nice matt finish to metal. E DeRuiter.
