Here is all the latest news from Gunman Airsoft:
Dear Arnies Airsoft news,
Welcome to another weekly update from Gunman Airsoft.
This weekend just gone, we had a build day at Tuddenham on Saturday which was well supported – thanks to everyone who came and helped out. The guys and girls managed to clear all the broken internal walls that were kicked down inside building 8 and have built a framework of new dividers inside. We’ve temporarily hung some hessian on them, and will be looking to replace that with canvas or wood to make it more permanent.
The scaffold tower at the end of building 5 has now been converted into a sniper tower, and they’ve made a fantastic job of it. We will be incorporating it into future games.
On Sunday we had our first gas & spring only day and it was awesome fun. We played lots of short, dynamic scenarios, similar to how we run the night games, focussed on building assaults and clearance drills. We will be aiming to run more similar days in future as well as a low cap only day to include the AEG users.
Sunday also saw something a bit special – the Okto 8 guys were down and one of the scenarios we played was designed to give players an idea of the sort of experience they would get at the Okto 8 MilSim Taster day on May 30th Bank Holiday Monday. Players had to plan and execute an ambush on an armoured vehicle to snatch a cartel leader and his briefcase. An IED was set, the doors were blown open with plastic explosive and the HVT and briefcase was dragged out of the vehicle and secured. One team even managed to capture one of the protection detail alive!
Players faced up to the Gunman/Okto crew rather than other players which meant that if they scored a vital hit on a cartel member, they went down and stayed down – no lengthy battles with respawns, just pure decisive fast action and adrenaline. There are limited places for the taster day (16 total), for more details, look for Okto Eight Milsim on Facebook or email us.
This weekend coming up, we are staging a Hunger Games battle at Tuddenham – three teams will be fighting it out over various supply drops. Each team will have an HQ and will have to get supplies from the drop zone or from other teams’ HQs whilst trying to hold on to what they have. Teams will get rotated at lunchtime.
The following weekend our Eversley players will get their Hunger Games battle. If you’ve never played at Eversley before this is a great opportunity to experience attack and defense of several key areas of the site. Why not make a weekend out of it?
Regards,
Josh Smith
