Charly over at Omega Force dropped me a line as he wanted to let everyone know about one of their new Airsoft videos that they have now got online. The video is just over 3mins long and just over 12Mb encoded in DivX format. The video shows a staged assault on a bus, taking place (I assume) in Spain. Not a bad bit of video either. You can find more videos on their photos and videos page (called "Fotos y videos") listed on their site.

The guys at NAM Magazine have sent over news of their upcoming event called Operation:Biohazard. There are only 150 spaces available at the moment, so they’ll have to turn people away the day of the game when they are fully booked. If you’re interested best bet is to pre-register today.
On 01-SEP-04 2354hrs, a distribution convoy received small
arms fire from a local militant environmental protection
group while in transit from TROCAR Chemicals hidden
facility, to dock 16 in Monterey.During the engagement, a container rolled from one of the
cargo trucks and was lost in the murky waters of the slew.
[…]Due to the serious nature of this situation, RX
Distribution, LTD. must cease all shipments and deny all
involvement with TROCAR Chemicals until this situation has
been resolved. We recommend deployment of your SWAT-HAZMAT team to destroy
all evidence including the eradication of all infected
individuals in the area.

I don’t know how well this will work, but if you use .NET or Windows Messenger you can get live updates via Messenger as and when the new site is updated onsite. To use it, just click the link "Live Message Alerts!" found bottom left, near the RSS links. Haven’t tried it myself, so can’t vouch for it if you give it a go, please leave some feedback on the forums to let us know how it goes.

It could just possibly be the perfect office toy.. now bear with me here. Sadly I can’t hum the themetune over a blog entry, so I won’t bother, but I rather hope that most folks know what the TV series Airwolf was. If not, well you need to get more retro baby!
We’ve seen the BB tanks etc that are out there, but how about a helicopter that you can fly indoors (with practice) powered by electrics that looks like Airwolf? Of course the next mission would be to rig the guts of a cheap TM EBB to the nose with a servo so you could rain 0.12g death from above.
Here in the UK the full kit costs about £200 (over at Mildand Helicopters), for the US market you’re looking at 315USD for the same kit. Based on the Century Hawk the Airwolf set is really just a body kit that’s been painted and added… but common, it’s Airwolf.

Nuno Tavares has dropped me a line with information about Vietnam 6mm – The very first European Thematic Airsoft event in Portugal
:
Introduction note:
As the number of players increases in our country, big events suffer from the common problem of fast growing communities: some players are too much competitive, others are well known for cheating, team rivalities may be revealed and, when a whole country gets together for a big Airsoft event, these unwished minorities can really make damage to any game organization, blocking the fun of a fair played game as wished in our hobby.

The folks over at Men-at-Arms have sent in the latest form them. Men-at-Arms make reproduction uniforms to order, such as USCM DBUs and ARVN tiger stripe:
MAA from MEN-AT-ARMS ACTION GEAR CO. back again to introduce some new products. First, I’d like to mention that we are a re-production uniform manufacturer featuring USCM Colonial Marines BDU as well as Vietnam era uniforms such as our ARVN Marines Tiger Stripe uniform from last year. This year we are bringing out more new uniforms including ARVN Ranger camouflage and a faithfully re-produced ERDL line (estimated late November release).
Lastly, we are venturing into Airsoft retailing featuring TANIO KOBA’s fabulous HK VP-70M pistol and accessories, with a fantastically low retail price of US$180! (Please inquire for a even lower price for the VP-70M with uniform set purchase). Thanks Arnie for getting the news out there. MAA out! (Men-at-Arms)

Well, home that surprised you. I’ve been quiet for the past 3 days rewriting most of the site engine, as ever there’s always more to do, but for the moment it’s certainly good enough for public viewing.
Major updates yet to come include updating the review pages to include all the new reviews not yet listed, adding the new web link directory online, including a photo gallery with the forum system and updating all out of date articles.
I hope you like the layout, and the new forums. With the move we have dropped the old style forums entirely. It simply wasn’t possible anytime this lifetime to easily move the database data across from one system to the other. Please note that this means that you will have to re-register to login and use the site forums and features.

Paul Chu from Redwolf is here in the UK at the moment, and has been sampling the delights of some of the local sites here. Just added to their webpage is a report covering the latest game held at SennyBridge.
It is never easy to compare events and games around the world, but when you stumble upon the event of the year, you can’t help but notice. Do not be fooled – these are not real village buildings but part of the training facility – jealous? Forget the game itself and look at the credentials of the organizers: Ex-SAS elites managing one of the most prestigious military tactics training school in the UK, backed by resources from the British military.
When asked how such a spectacular event could be put together on restricted grounds with access to military hardware, Welsh sign In Parking Lot the answer was obvious yet so true – “Its who you know”. And for the 300+ people who attended the event, that translated into one dream weekend that is difficult to top. Paul Chu (Redwolf Airsoft )

This site is hosted in Florida over in the US. With the current storm damage caused by hurricane Frances in the Tampa region we may experience patches of downtime. Sadly there’s not much that can be done about such things, acts of God and all that.

Wallace Lau over at AirsoftOhio has sent over leaked shots of Systema’s soon to be released M4 replica – thanks for sending them in Wallace.
Hi Mate, Trying to send you these pictures last week but you know what happened… anyway, besides a small post in AirsoftOhio, nobody else has these photos yet but feel free to post them on your news section as I am sure people had been wondering what their M4’s stock will look like. =) Wallace, (AirsoftOhio)

The site design as you may have notice is gradually changing. There’s lots of things going on at the moment in the background. This temporary “look” will be improved so that all the files previously available are here. The projects, articles and reviews pages are all being moved across at the moment, and should all be available on here within the next 24-48hours.
It’s the weekend, so don’t expect huge amounts of work to be done, as some of us are going to have relaxing a break from keyboards and computers alike. ;)

While I’ve got a moment I’ve added some new reviews online.. taken a bit as have to fit temp site design (what you’re looking at) in with the present site design and layout (what you’re used to). It’s only a temporary engine I’ve written to display the articles so it’s just a simple design that works, but the best I can do at the moment at short notice.
More reviews and articles to come.. but first have a heap more work to do.

At the moment the page you’re reading is on a backup machine, so none of the usual site links will work at the moment, as quite simply the files and database aren’t on this server to serve. Site email is also up and running at the same time. While work goes on in the background, the usual news updates, blog posts & inane ramblings will appear on here.
