Agent47 added some new to the forums about a preview of some new Blackwater milspec gear that’s appeared on the internet. Certainly beginning to look more and more like the gear seen in Universal Soldier or similar sci-fi film it’s interesting to see such designs appearing.
Blackwater Gear was born out of the partnership between THREE companies with others acting in support. Blackwater and Michaels’ of Oregon are the best known two out of the three. The other one is Crye Precision (part of Crye Associates but more on that in a bit). That said, who makes what? And based on what input?
Crye Precision manufactures the armor chassis and designed the uniform with its multi-cam (trade marked) pattern. Michael’s of Oregon manufactures the holsters, accessory pouches, modular vest system, etc. It is important to note that Crye Precision designed the accessory pouches and we’ll see full integration of everyone’s role in just a minute. Supporting companies are Benchmade Knives – making Blackwater Gear Knives (the Nimravus line with some minor detail changes that matter) and Armor Skins producing gloves for the Blackwater Gear line. There’s also a company called TerraMar that manufactures the clothing worn under the uniform, and the material that is part of the uniform shirt. There is a hydration system that is integral to the Blackwater Gear line, but I’m not at liberty to say who is manufacturing it. However, I do know that whatever bladder system is used, it’s being carried in pouches designed by Crye, manufactured by Michael’s. So, after all that, what role does Blackwater play? Keith Ng over at RedWolf Airsoft has sent in the latest updates from them:
I just wanted to inform you of some exciting new products at www.redwolfairsoft.com. I’ve attached some pictures here for you. You can get the full story on these products by visiting our site.
1.G&P Military Distress Marker Light Type BB Loader for Marui AEG/ Marui / KSC Handguns – A really cool idea – this military distress marker light device is actually a BB loader. Very realistic and can hold 150 BBs to make loading your pistol and low-cap mags a snap! Suitable for most pisols except Desert Eagle series and most AEGs.
2.GB-TECH TD Distraction Device (Gas Charger)
– Tired of carrying around your huge gas bottle to keep your gas pistol filled during skirmishes? Realistic looking TD flashbang actually doubles as a gas charger! It allows you to charge Top Gas / Marui 134a into the TD distraction device, and then carry it around with you on your vest during skimishes. When it comes time to recharge your gas pistol, simply use this device to fill up your gas magazines! This is the coolest idea for gas pistol lovers yet! Keith Ng, (RedWolf Airsoft)

One of the people working at ATE (who organise the use of MoD training facilities by civilians) has asked me to post an appeal online here from them. He works indirectly for the MoD and has recently had to deal with a complaint about the use of MoD facilities by Airsoft users.
There is now a very real risk that the UK FIBUA areas will be unavailable for future Airsoft use because of recent abuse by one organisation:
I work indirectly for the MoD, and have just had to field a complaint
about the use of MoD facilities by Airsoft users who booked in for another
purpose, and then departed leaving the place littered with non-biodegradable
BB pellets. These pellets have both environmental impact (we are constantly monitored
by an Environmental Support Team, who can close us down for military
activities if we do not meet their standards) and H&S issues (if a running
soldier slips on a number of pellets left lying on a hard concrete area
there will be hell to pay). This group has messed it up for all other possible users – it is unlikely
I will get any co-operation from military staff next time someone wants to
use our facilities. Two things to bear in mind: be honest about your intentions if attemptingto book MoD facilities, and use biodegradable BB pellets (and clear them up
as well post exercise). If there is no such thing as a truly biodegradable pellet the you really
are in [trouble] – as even us non Airsoft afficiandos can use the internet to
research our potential problem areas (even if we can’t type and spell.) (Name supplied)
Obviously it will be a shame should the military facilities be unavailable for use by Airsofting organisations for training purposes. Any group that abuses the priveledge to use MoD facilities puts their use at risk for everyone else. Names and specifics have been left out of this publication for obvious reasons.

Sally at Russian Combat Gear has sent over the weekly updates from them. Here’s the latest:
We have added Gorka-S BDU. It is recommended as a field uniform for the mountain
regiments of the Russian Military forces and FSB/GRU spetsnaz
operatives.
The Nakhodka Basha is added to the catalogue. The Basha can be used
as a a personal tent, part of the modular tent or personal poncho and
provides protection from elements and provides additional camouflaging
against visual/air recon.
We have reduced the price on Shtorm-2 tactical assault vest by $15, the new price is $74.95. (Russian Combat Gear)

Algin (AirsoftClub) has sent over news of their newer full metal L85A1 varients only 50 of these two different models will be made.
Version A (made in HongKong) and Version B (made in Taiwan) both comprise of a full metal body, metal outer barrel, marui M4A1 inner barrel, marui M16 hop-up/rubber and custom L85 Eagle Force 1100S motor. Stock FPS is about 280 FPS/w0.2g. The only difference is delivery time and price (and internals – see below); A comes in at 350USD and takes 5 weeks to make and B costs 769USD and takes 8 weeks to complete.
Version A uses the Academy gearbox and B uses the M16 Marui gearbox, version A has a functional fire select switch (safe/single/full), B only has safe/full. They both feature the plastic SA80 red dot scope (Academy), takes TM M16 mags and up to a 8.4V 3000mAh battery.
Looking at the RRP the price on the “B” version must be wrong. Checking the description I think the fault lies in the incorrect price quoted for the custom Eagle motor of 664USD rather than 66USD. Best put that one down to a typographic error I should think.

Kawi at NatoWorks dropped in an email about their SC/P-90 replica that they are manufacturing. This is the replica that’s been seen at quite a few retailers of late advertised for sale. Full metal and professionally finished it looks very nice. I’ve added some shots of their workshop to the news article as you don’t often get to see CNC shops over there in print.
SC/P-90
This Rifle is our first production,we used 2 years to design & test its, this airsoft made by full Aluminum Alloy (One Piece Outer Barrel, Body, Flash Hider, Sight, Stock), and the plastic parts was made by CNC machine, so its must be perfect version, and not need any tools for change the carry handle & scope mount, and change the Battery.
About battery, this rifle can internal 1500mah 9.6V battery, and fit for M4/M16 magazines, about the gearbox & hopup set are use M4/M16a2 gearbox & full metal one piece hopup set.
About Special of this Airsoft, I think is this rifle same of MP5’s double selector but use in M4 gearbox, and left & right side can be change the magazines, and all metal parts must be handmade, so this rifle will be limited edition. (NatoWorks)

Recently made available in Europe (been out for a bit in the US) is the relatively new Crossman Airsoft (termed SoftAir by Crossman) Semi-Automatic Air Mag Kit. Interestingly it doesn’t use a simple NBB system or one of the many GBB systems available, instead this model uses the rotary revolver type mechanism found in many of the 4.5mm air pistols and CO2 powerlets.
Velocity is quoted as just under 1 Joule (max of 96m/s with 0.2g), although the BBs shown in shot are almost certainly 0.12g (see available types). The choice of firing mechanism and the upper muzzle velocity are very likely intended so that the product conforms with all laws applicable to their intended market areas. Thanks go to Nuno for the heads up.
This semi-automatic soft air gun is designed for maximum excitement. The kit comes with the S1008, two CO2 Powerlets, two 7-round clips, safety glasses, 100 plastic BB’s and a 6″ Gel-Trap target.
Model S1008KT Power Source: CO2, Caliber: 6mm, Max Velocity: up to 315 fps (96 m/s), Capacity: 7-shot rotary clip, Length: 8.63″ (21.9 cm), Weight: 17 oz. (.48 kg.), Material: Synthetic. (Crossman)
Obviously the Semi-Automatic Air Mag Kit represents nothing that new to anyone familiar with the Airsoft, however it does represent leading manufacturers looking closer at viable 6mm Airsoft/SoftAir product lines.
