Crossman Semi-Automatic Air Mag Kit

by Arnie

Recently made available in Europe (been out for a bit in the US) is the relatively new Crossman Airsoft (termed SoftAir by Crossman) Semi-Automatic Air Mag Kit. Interestingly it doesn’t use a simple NBB system or one of the many GBB systems available, instead this model uses the rotary revolver type mechanism found in many of the 4.5mm air pistols and CO2 powerlets.

Velocity is quoted as just under 1 Joule (max of 96m/s with 0.2g), although the BBs shown in shot are almost certainly 0.12g (see available types). The choice of firing mechanism and the upper muzzle velocity are very likely intended so that the product conforms with all laws applicable to their intended market areas. Thanks go to Nuno for the heads up.

This semi-automatic soft air gun is designed for maximum excitement. The kit comes with the S1008, two CO2 Powerlets, two 7-round clips, safety glasses, 100 plastic BB’s and a 6″ Gel-Trap target.

Model S1008KT Power Source: CO2, Caliber: 6mm, Max Velocity: up to 315 fps (96 m/s), Capacity: 7-shot rotary clip, Length: 8.63″ (21.9 cm), Weight: 17 oz. (.48 kg.), Material: Synthetic. (Crossman)

Obviously the Semi-Automatic Air Mag Kit represents nothing that new to anyone familiar with the Airsoft, however it does represent leading manufacturers looking closer at viable 6mm Airsoft/SoftAir product lines.
