Following his trip to Shot Show, Tom of Airsoft Obsessed has written a review of the SOCOM Gear CheyTac M200 Intervention Rifle:
I just posted a new update, this time on the SOCOM Gear CheyTac M200 Intervention Rifle that I also encountered at the JAG Precision Booth.
I promise readers that I won’t be creating monster updates for EVERY single gun that I saw at the show because that would be ridiculous, but I will be giving a bit more time in the Shot Show spotlight to a select few individuals that I deem worthy.
Thanks, Tom (Airsoft Obsessed)

Hector of AirsoftSniper.co has translated the Resolution which now makes airsoft an official sport in Chile, he hopes that it will pave the way for other countries to legalise airsoft:
Hi Arnie , I posted in my blog the full translation into English of the Chilean resolution that made Airsoft an official sport.

Over at Airsoft Chile (posted by Disajim in the forums) there’s news that Airsoft has been officially recognised by a governing sports body. I’m told the source documents and original news is here, however you’ll need a forum account at Airsoft Chile to view the post.
The text and documents are in Spanish and the news is also covered over at Popular Airsoft.
Whilst my own Spanish is somewhat limited to ordering beer and pizza I’m assured that the documents above cover the recognition of Airsoft in Chile.
If someone out there is happy to email me their translation and further explanation of the process and documents I’ll update this article for everyone. ;)

Sports - Nutnfancy SHOT Show 2011: Sig P290 Too Thick
It should be a win, right? I mean, aren't Nutnfancy and Sig two peas in a pod. Not always…just like with this gun. Remember the new Sig P290 is going after the concealed carry POU. That means it has some outstanding competition like the KelTec PF-9 that weighs 12.7 ounces and is only .88 inches thick. And it's accurate, reliable, and durable (so far!). So how does the much heralded Sig P290 blow it? Thickness and weight: 1.1 inches and 21 ounces… almost 8 ounces heavier than the standard-setting Kel-Tec PF-9. The Sig P290 is about the same size and weight as a Glock 26 (slightly thinner). In the CCW/CCP role, I say that weight and thinness are critical. For long existing designs like the PPK and such, I give some allowances for these. But with today's technology and winning designs I'm a little puzzled how Sig missed so widely on the P290. Make it .80 thick and 13 ounces and I'm interested, especially if it delivers the usual Sig accuracy and reliability. Also keep in mind this is an expensive gun as well. With all that in mind, as a concealed lethal option the Sig P290 does not interest me and fails to unseat more excellent polymer designs.////////////////// Preliminary Likability Scale: 5 out of 10 (high cost considered)Views:

Science & Technology - Nutnfancy SHOT Show 2011: Kel-Tec Moves To World Domination
You might find some good laughs and perhaps some fun in this Nutnfancy Kel-Tec 20111 product update. But as you've come to expect, I stay on target and hit the details like no other. The good, the bad, and the outstanding high points of Kel-Tec are discussed here. Chad from Kel-Tec is especially cool and turns out to be another Gold Star host for TNP. He rolls in most excellent fashion with the Nutnfancy style as we delve into yet more Kel-Tec impressive innovation. Namely their 26″ 12 gauge bullpup shotgun that will carry 14+1 rounds. Weighing in at a respectable 6.9 lbs, the Kel-Tec KSG-12 seems compact, fast, and sets new standards of shotgun firepower. The innovative KSG features include on-the-fly user-selectable magazines (each holding 7 2 ¾" rds), magazine cutoff ability for loading single rounds, plenty of railing for accessories and a VG, different colors, sling attachment points, and has screw-in cokes. If it's everything it seems to be the KSG will be another slam dunk seller for KT and the crew (and of course probably impossible to find for the next year). Also we check out the also impressive RMR-30 .22 WMG semi-auto carbine. In conversations with Kel-Tec, this is a gun I wanted them to make. It fills a distinct niche in as lightweight, high-value survival/bug-out rifle with substantial firepower. And it uses the more-affordable and yet potent-enough .22 WMG. It seems to still be in development and expect changes in the finer details. But if it's durable and reliable, the RMR-30 stands is another trendsetter for its compactness, lightweight, versatility, and affordability. As of early 2011, I see no competitors that hold the same promise of SAWC domination and value in this POU. Yes the KSG shotgun and the RMR-30 are the darlings in 2011 but there's a lot of depth still to the Kel-Tec winning lineup. Kinda' like the still standard-setting PF-9, P-3AT, PMR-30, SU-16s, and SU-22. Most of those have send plenty of rounds downrange in The Nutnfancy Project and are proven, recommended commodities. Now if we can just get and keep the KSG and PMR/RMRs on the shelf it will be a win for all! It's not world domination but it's industry leading stuff. //////////////////// Music: Licensed to TNP from www.youtube.com/user/InSoMnIaKsTrAnCe (www.square-recordings.com)Views:

Tom of Airsoft Obsessed and Pyramyd Airsoft has just returned from his first visit to Shot Show and seems to have rather enjoyed the whole experience:
I, too, have thrown my hat in the ring for Shot Show 2011 event coverage. I figured the only thing better than explaining how I almost convinced two complete strangers (the “almost Bride” was from London!) to get married at 4 a.m. in the New York New York Hotel & Casino was to post up my first Shot Show update, which features the brand new Echo1 M240 Bravo Airsoft AEG that was on display at the JAG Precision booth.
I was only at the show for a relatively limited time, but my brother, Todd, and I still managed to cover a lot of solid ground. I’ve got over 300 photos and even a few words to share with anyone who’s interested in what went on last week at the Sands Expo & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.
I had the pleasure of meeting some very fine folks in the Airsoft & Real Steel industry, who shared some exciting stuff with me (even though I’m bald). Then of course, there were all the celebrity/VIP sightings in addition to pretending I was cool by getting to hang out with Thumpy & a number of other “known associates” (there’s even photo evidence on Airsoft Pacific).
And what Shot Show would be complete without (intentionally) crossing paths with a number of lovely booth babes? All in all, even if it wasn’t in Vegas, my first trip to Shot Show still would have been a phenomenal one.
I’ll be posting all my updates to my website, www.Airsoft-Obsessed.com, in addition to a few select posts on the Pyramyd Airsoft Blog as quickly as my teething, 8-month-old baby will allow me to do so. The direct link to all my Shot Show updates is here: http://www.airsoft-obsessed.com/shot-show.html
Thanks, Tom (Airsoft Obsessed)

RAP4 have released a new series of MOLLE pouches in a range of sizes and patterns to meet your every need:

With our ballistic nylon construction, mil-spec designs, and 21 available patterns – including all US military patterns and many foreign patterns – we have exactly the pouch you want in exactly the design you need.
Our MOLLE Magazine Pouches are available for rifle and pistol magazines, with specific models tailored for exactly the gear you carry. Check out the double MP5 magazine pouch for the RAP5 Gen 2 marker and airsoft MP5s, so you can carry spare ammo right where you need it. Three-magazine pouches are available, too, and you can have them made – just for you – in any of our 21 available patterns…for no extra charge.
For players using the mag-fed T68 markers, check out the M4/M16 magazine pouches that let you carry two magazines – or three – anywhere on your MOLLE vest. There are magazine pouches for Tiberius pistol magazines, and Tippmann TPX magazines…airsoft pistol magazines, and the RAP226 and other Real Action Paintball pistols. We have MOLLE pouches for all of your mags…and MOLLE holsters for those pistols, too!
But there’s more to the versatility of MOLLE vests than magazine pouches – top scenario players wear them so they can carry radios, maps, ID, spare paintball pods, and other gear.
When you’re in the backfield, you need to radio your opponents’ moves to your commander…which means that you need a radio, and need it accessible while you do more important things (like shooting and moving). Real Action Paintball has your answer: the MOLLE Radio/Walkie Talkie Pouch. Also useful for storing magazines in a pinch, or other large rectangular objects, this pouch can put your radio right up near your ear…or out of the way lower on your chest.
From map and ID pouches, to general storage pockets for cable squeegees and field repair kits, RAP4 has a MOLLE pouch for every paintball, airsoft, and tactical need. Go ahead and challenge us – search www.rap4.com for "MOLLE" and whatever it is you’re looking for, and an answer will certainly come up…and will be available in those 21 patterns, too.

Thumpy has put together a quick summary of some of the big news from Shot Show and there’s another video too:
Arn and all! Updates to a lot of your forum members questions will be posted up in the next few days, as we are all getting hard-at-work producing all the material we compiled at SHOT Show:
Real Sword announced they are getting into the M-4/M-16 lineups…and they were SOLID, although for the most part, not-fully functional prototypes…we DID get interview and video/photos, coming up this weekend. No solid word on the sniper, but you will want one…it was EVERYTHING you’d expect from a longer RS 97-stretch!
KWA’s announcements were EPIC! Literally released for the first several hours of Tuesday and kept airsoft media guys coming back over and over and over!…and our buddy "Allizard" and the boys/girls from KWA USA were hosting a solid stream of folk, cops, RealMil and VIP’s just PACKED into their area! A BIG VIDEO AND PHOTOS are going up ASAP…but there’s a lot to digest here! We did already post some on day one!
ECHO-1 has some SOLID products in development, Video & Photos, plus a LONG interview with Lead Tech Brian…the video guy, who couldn’t have been any nicer!Z-shot/Systema/Area…great to see Wallace Lau, held the Grease Gun…nice work, wanted one since Steve McQueen worked his in that old WW-2 Movie!..AND, we have a "mystery guest" fronting for Airsoft Innovations, as Carlton Chong was getting ready to plaster Airsoftology’s Steve and Jonathan, and Gorilla Airsoft Radio’s "Beast" Jerry with a Tornado Grenade at CYBERGUN’s shooting range….and we got it ALL on Video!
Lots of interviews with Airsoft Media Guys…captured TWO "borderline-divine meetings" that, had a REAL GRENADE gone off, would have wiped out most of the airsoft media world in one blast…minus Arnie!
This was your chance at world Airsoft Domination!
AND so much more….including Thumpy’s "AMBUSH" of Jager and the OPSGEAR gang!
MORE TO COME….THUMPY…..OVER (Thumpy’s 3-D House of Airsoft)
