G&P have sent out a news release concerning their products and the Colt trademark. According to them, from the 1st of June G&P will have permission to use the Colt trademark, although all purchases of Colt branded G&P gear in USA, Denmark/Germany/France and the UK will have to be made through Cybergun:

We are please to inform you that starting from 1st of June 2005, G & P Industrial Co. Ltd. is officially licensed to use COLT, the trademark, in connection with the business of manufacturing, advertising, merchandising, promoting, selling and distributing the following listed products. The sales activities of the listed products shall be carried out in the World except USA, Denmark, Germany, France & UK. COLT already granted an exclusive right to Cybergun from France to deal with the companies from the above-mentioned countries.
Starting from today, please do place your orders of the listed products directly to Cybergun. But if orders were placed before the starting date will still valid for delivery. Besides, products out of this list and are carrying by G&P will still available for your orders.

As to what this means for current UK/US dealers stocking Hong Kong imports of G&P products (that will shortly have Colt markings) remains to be seen. For the US market where imports of anything with unlicensed Colt markings are quickly seized, it’s unlikely that G&P Colt marked products will surface in any great amounts, at least not with the markings intact
