- Operation Snakebite – a Basho airsoft/milsim film
The main article for Operation Snakebite is on my site: www.outsidecontext.com
About the film:
I have often remarked that the challenge of making an airsoft film – when you are also playing in the game – is that you can only edit what you film. In other words: all the events and action is "live" and you can stop filming, back everyone up, and take a different angle! I have tried many approaches to defeating this problem such as using multiple camera’s, being an extra slice of awesome and shooting everything that happens.
However, Milsim proved a stronger challenge.
How can I make a film about a shooting event where for the first 10 hours I fired not more than a handfull of BBs? In fact only one burst! I decided to focus on the story and once particular incident that happened to me on the Sunday morning when on sentry duty. Unfortunately, my part in the large battle that followed (see the awesome comment above) was entirely too dark to use as was the tunnels section at the end of the day. So, what we have is my filming as a dead player. I think the guys in the footage played very well indeed and were excellently commanded by Ed (the guy with the beard).
I am working hard at ways of defeating low light issues for the next film, but for now – here is Operation Snakebite, I hope that you like it!
Regards,
Basho

- [Game Footage] No.9 Midtown – Chiba
I haven’t been to No.9 for about a year and a half, so I took Team Thunder up on their invitation. We played in Midtown with 11 people, which was just about perfect for this small field.
I tested three guns during the day. My Tokyo Marui EBB M4A1 Socom, My KSC GBB MP7, and my Classic Army UMC. They all worked very well, with the MP7 being the best sized gun for the field.

Thanks - Airsoft GI – Polar Star PR-15 Electropneumatic Airsoft Rifle
This is a revolutionary design for airsoft. Polar Star have discovered a way to replace v2 mechbox on certain M4s with an air regulating unit. The result is a higher potential for performance and increased reliability.

I post pictures on Facebook every time I visit an Airsoft site, I also tell you what sites I will be attending and when.
Did you realise that I operate TWO Youtube Airsoft channels the other is at http://www.youtube.com/scoutthedoggie2002 and there are over 60 videos on that channel.
This video was filmed near Glasgow in central Scotland, if you wish to play here the game dates and directions etc are on the Section8 website at http://www.s8airsoft.com/ If you need a rental gun you must prebook it via the Section8 website.
The guns seen in this video are supplied and maintained by http://www.airsoftworld.co.uk
Filmed using a Canon 550D Rebel DSLR type camera, recorded at 50FPS 720p HD, edited using Apple iMovie 09, edited on a 15" Apple MacBook Pro
I am the only person filming these videos, this has been clearly stated on the channel information for the last three years, that would appear to be the bit most people never read.
- Kershaw Antelope/Bear Hunter: "Bloody Capable" by Nutnfancy
Full flat ground classic drop points that weigh next to nothing. The Kershaw "Antelope Hunter" (1028) and "Bear Hunter" (#1029) fixed blades are outstanding high value achievements overall. You might be able to score one in AUS8A steel but the rolling change makes them in still-good 8CR13Mov in 2011. That steel can be expected to rust if neglected but also to provide good toughness, good edge holding, and an ability to take a scary edge. Both blades are razor sharp and it will be easy enough to keep them that way; they have good edge geometries. The flat grinding makes the good slicers, excellent game skinners, and great overall utility knives. Belly and tip strength is excellent. Add in the POU of "Soldier Blade" too if you can deal with the traditional sheaths and the downsides I identify in the video. They are stitched well however and overall quality on these blades is outstanding (the blade finishing impresses me too). Amazingly you find one of the best fixed blade jimping jobs around on the top spine. It locks in the thumb for more control. Coupled with the lighweight but tough, finger grooved co-polymer handles, and both the Antelope and Bear provide enough traction to flex into defensive roles. Carry weight is another huge plus. Weighing in at 3.6 oz and 5.2 oz (knives only), the AH and BH are featherweight fixed blade options, a rarity at any price point. My favorite is the AH with its thinner profile 3 5/8" drop point blade which will make it great choice as camp or even backpacking fixed blade. Value is extreme and both knives in 2011 clock in at UNDER $20. Also available are orange handled versions. The only detectable downside are the sheaths. If Kershaw could upgrade them with Kydex or plastic versions that attach easily and ride secure, the value and attraction to these versatile blades would be off the chart. .//////////////////////////////////////// Nutnfancy Likability Scale for AH and BH models: 9 out of 10 (price considered; solid 10 if given good Kydex sheath)
