Airsofting Plea: The importance of blood & bone marrow donations

by Marlowe

This isn’t your usual commercial post, but rather one that I could not ignore, given the content. Rob from team Darkangel has been in touch with a plea that concerns everyone:

My 7 year old Niece is fairly ill at the moment.

She has been diagnosed with a condition that can be best described as “pre – leukaemic”… her bone marrow…is destroying her good blood. She is ok in herself but is now on a waiting list trying to find a match as the blood relatives aren’t a match for her. She’s now under GOSH for ongoing treatment, this includes regular blood transfusions to keep her going and then hopefully the transplant and then Chemo that will see her hospitalised in a sterile bubble for 6-8 weeks with no direct contact from anyone other than medical staff.

Hopefully this will happen before the condition becomes full blown.

Fortunately thanks to a team member of mine Ben (Bennyboy) who works for Great Ormond Street hospital we have been able to help by arranging some transport stuff for her to and from GOSH etc.

My team (Darkangel) regularly holds a charity event that sends the funds to GOSH and thanks to everyone that took part in the charity stuff…

Rob, (Team Darkangel)

Rob goes onto plead for that everyone in the airsofting to consider joining the ‘Anthony Nolan’ national register, as a simple blood test could save or at least vastly improve the lives of many like Rob’s niece.

Thanks. :)
