http://www.theairsoftleague.comMany people have tried to bring us a competitive airsoft before and most of them have been fundamentally flawed in one way or another. We wanted a from of airsoft that could be competitive, but eliminate the things that hinder the progress of airsoft being played in such a way. Here are a few of the things we needed to eliminate, and how The Airsoft League tackles these issues:
Cheating: Cheating in is regular airsoft games without policing or the field taking care of it, which can ruin anyones day. Make it competitive with a prize to win and it can potentially go through the roof. The Airsoft League eliminates cheating by using a system of targets, timing, and scenarios that do not involve an opposing force.
Consistency: Fields play CQB scenario based competitions, having moving players as the opposing force, it’s hard to ensure consistency for most. Cheating would be a possibility that enters into the game as well. Using targets allow better consistency in our competitions.
Spectators: For any competitive sport to take off, it has to be able to have spectators. What good is it having a sport that nobody can watch? Eventually combining video cameras and a course, people are able to watch, which makes The Airsoft League something friends and family can get involved in too.
Boring, and no Teams: Target based competitions in airsoft have been difficult to watch because most are often repetitive and do not involve team work in any way. By having a structure that requires individuals in the team to have a given role within the scenario and an objective to achieve at the same time, The Airsoft League keeps things interesting for the spectators and other teams to watch, both up close and through head cams. Teams will have a structured environment within their individual roles to achieve a better time and acheive the objective.
So in essence, The Airsoft League is a team oriented, MILSIM based, scenarios with objectives, using individual skill within the team to complete the objectives against the clock.
