Twitch has sent over more news from him (he’s over in Japan at the moment). The shots are from the new issue of ARMS (available at your local decent stockist).
As you can see from the shots, EBBs have grown up somewhat in the past year. With the release of the “Boys” Glock 18c (technically an ENBB, as it’s non-blowback) functionality has been improved over the EBB range, with better performance and rather than chewing through AAs are a rediculous rate with a laughable power output and even worse blowback (even on 0.12g BBs) a handy powerpack is used, and the unit is fixed-slide.
It will be interesting to try one in person to see how far they have evolved, but no doubt this is a system that TM will improve upon gradually over the coming year or so. The Famas, the first of their commercial AEGs was designed for 7.2v packs, so perhaps we’ll see a similar evolution in the EBB market? Rechargeable packs are certainly the way to go in any case.
Chuck Mahon
(aka Stone Team Strikers) reports that he’s seen figures in the 60m/s mark with 0.2g BBs quoted. Please note that this model is NOT the previously seen G18c EBB that TM are releasing as well, it is a different product and the start of a new electric “over 18” pistol range from TM.
