Title says it all. I wasnt satisfied with the sound or performance of the G&P PTS, so I cracked open the gearbox (oh so painful) and dove in. It was exactly as I suspected. Broken Axle on a gear. Weird how it still cycled even with this failed gear. I still love G&P guns. For me, the fix is simple and inexpensive.. $8 JG gearsets are some of the strongest and reliable on the market. And that is exactly what I used.

I will eventually have to change out the piston, as the teeth show signs of excessive wear. But for now, they are still deep enough to be effective. When this piston fails, I will redo the entire setup. The final build will include a E-F Panther MOSFET, a new Bravo red Piston or X High Tech.. New Wiring, UBR Stock, and new Rail system up front.

Mrs Nutnfancy and I hittin’ it with S&W Model 10 and Model 15 .38 Special revolvers. These are wonderful specimens of the high polish blue, perfection fit and finish, and smooth DA/SA trigger pulls that S&W did on these classics. The Model 10 6" with its fine sights shows mind blowing accuracy in the shooting I’ve done with it so far. Nope they’re not .357s but the .38 Special +Ps will get the job done and firing those loads once in awhile shouldn’t hurt their frames. The Model 15 seems to emerge from the "Dirty Harry" (I know it was Mdl 29 in the close ups; Mdl 25 .45 for the shooting scenes) or "48 Hours" movies: it has the cool and authoritative looks that made it a movie favorite. It looks just like a Model 27 .357. Fortunately it doesn’t disappoint (so far!) as a shooter, being able to even hit the side of the hostage swinger plate when obscured. Mrs Nutn does a good job hitting the circles and loved shooting both gun. I could easily spend a day firing these awesome guns and they are STILL viable defensive choices.

This scenario was based on the real life combat experience of BoE Wonderbread during his deployment in Iraq as a US Ranger.

Mission Overview: Special Forces in the area have obtained actionable Intel about a bomb that has been placed at one of the local schools. A Ranger QRF has been dispatched to assault several known insurgent safe houses in the area in order to obtain Intel on the whereabouts of the bomb. Once the bomb is located, it is to be secured until EOD arrives to defuse the threat.

Evo #2 is shown in the video and was filmed by B.o.E Toolman using a GoPro camera. Footage is taken from the insurgent side as they defend against the Ranger team assault, ultimately trying to ensure the bomb detonates as planned.

Moving so fast in TNP, I often forget to post some of the 100s of hours of footage I have. Sometimes the original plans for the videos change and it’s forgotten. But not this one. Here my son TacticalDoodle comes back into TNP in October 2011. This was his first RunNGun in years and this Nutnfancy Basic Edit (BEdit) vid shows him knocking the rust off. You might find some humor as he tries to bolt release the Sig 522 like an AR-15, his habit pattern. The Sig 522 remains one of my favorite Tactical .22s as it has great ergos, accuracy, and reliability. It’s a cost effective platform for getting ready for more costly centerfire drills. Doodle gives us some good laughs as usual and brings it together fast in this Eat Lead Drill. A phenom I guess. Also the Kimber .22 1911 conversion makes an appearance on a S&W Scandium frame but chokes with Federal Bulk ammo. Another slice of life TNP video; if it gets good views I’ll post more.

If you can master the trigger, this is a great combat worthy handgun. The Sig P250 flexes into multiple POUs and even surprises us as a "mailing gun" due to its modular component break down (thought of by a TNPr). It is a perfect choice as a "wife gun," combat sidearm, home defense option, and in its smallest sub-compact form, as a carry pistol. In the form the slide has been reduced to 1.1". And while Sig touts the caliber interchange on the P250 and it’s worth touting, I found it to be most advantageous in saving money! Practice in 9mm and then carry in your other favorite caliber if you want: .357 Sig, .40 S&W, or .45 ACP (heavily tested here). Weight on these guns is decent. The full sized version was the test bed here, weighing in at 31 oz for the .45 ACP and 29 oz for the 9mm configuration. The sight radius is longer than our beloved Sig P226. In this updated testing and review on the type, I found the Gen 2 P250 balance and ergos to be almost perfect: grip shape, stippling, slide serrations, night sights (included), mag release, undercut and squared trigger guard (rounded in subcompact version), clean and simple controls, and even the trigger. Yes, as I noted in my 2009 review, its still a DAO affair and you gotta’ be a good marksman to deal with that. But I found it does not handicap the design. In my extensive testing of the .45 ACP and 9mm version, the P250 shoots fast enough and with astounding accuracy (shown). From standing position at 15 yds I achieved one hole groups with Remington Golden Saber 9mm 124 gr +Ps (great defensive load btw). Reliability with all types of ammo, including steel crap, was 100%. Take down and cleaning is Sig simplicity in itself (with the 9mm version having a stiff takedown lever, no big deal). Value is much improved over 2009 pricing, with this model being secured as a Sig Certified Pre-Owned gun by TNP for only $315. This is astounding quality, accuracy, and reliability at that price. The caliber interchange set ups will cost about the same direct from Sig but again provide flexibility and cost savings in the long run. The Sig P250 therefore is a trustworthy and confidence enhancing sidearm that you can count on. I called my 2009 P250 vid "Accuracy on the Double."
