X-Fire have a new inner barrel all ready to go for the new mini AEG G18C from TM. The new barrel is one of the 05 series (6.05mm) and from their published figures vastly improves accuracy. Made to a +/-0.004mm tollerance from stainless steel their 05 barrel was tested with 0.2g BBs and was then tested at a range of 8m with and without the upgraded barrel. Price for the upgrade barrel is 2,800Yen.
10 shots were fired on semi and 30 on full.Velocities (fps) for the semi automatic shots without the upgraded barrel were: 211, 210, 209, 213, 214, 209, 211, 211, 209, 209, and the readings after the upgrade were: 211, 213, 210, 212, 212, 213, 212, 210, 210, 212.
Grouping without the upgrade on semi was 6×6.2cm, and with upgrade was reduced to 4.5×4.3cm; and stock at f/a produced a 7.5×11.7cm group, which was reduced to 6x6cm with the spanky new 05 set. As you can see there’s no huge upgrade in muzzle velocity, but accuracy has been improved, especially on full auto. If you’re getting on of the new G18C MAEGs, this part should probably be on your Christmas list!
