I haven’t posted one of these for ages, however this one was a bit too off the wall to pass up. I receive a heck of a lot of spam, of which 99.9% gets killed dead by spam filters; however occasionally a human being will take the time to contact us through the website with some outlandish request.
In our latest instalment Pakistan apparently needs (engage Keanu Reeves voice) “guns… lots of guns”.
Before getting to the email I’ve just read, lets just go over the major obvious points here:
- we’re not a retailer
- we don’t sell anything
- this is an Airsoft website
- if we did sell stuff it’s unlikely we’d ship to Pakistan
- if we did sell stuff it would be airsoft related not real firearms
- we don’t deal in firearms
- the hint is in the name – “Airsoft”
- umm.. we’re not a retailer (see #1-7)
- in accordance with #1-8 we don’t supply “UBGM”, “AHHKAY47”, “ANPEEQUE” or “sniper raffles”
Do people actually randomly email sites like this saying “I want to buy guns” ?
The answer is strangely yes. Apparently at the top of this website it says “Funding the world’s armed units and supplying weapons and UBGL to the world’s elite since 2001”. I thought I just said something about Airsoft.
This worries me. We don’t do “gun providings”. It seems there are stupid people out there that send emails like this. To make it worth their while this means that there are even stupider people out there that reply to them (in a constructive manner) or try to comply with the request.
Amusingly assuming that the ocean has indeed frozen outside and that this is a bona fide request they are also daft enough to give the details of the apparent end client and then ask for their “finding fee” to be added into the invoice without telling the client.
Lets just face it.. it’s most likely a scam and they are after “monies”, your bank details and if you could just pop over to Pakistan too that’d be great.
