Mentioned over at JK Army, the RIS variant of the GBB open chamber M4 PCC from WE is coming soon. It weighs in at around 5kg and is likely to cost around 300USD.
It’s all metal, intended for HFC gas use, running at around 380fps on 0.2g BBs and the magazines carry 50 rounds each. It is worth noting that it looks like it is not compatible with the “G Model Magazine” and you’ve got to buy the specific model for this rifle.
ARES have refreshed their L85 with the L85A3. Priced at around 400USD for the basic model and around 600USD for the deluxe model. it features a reinforced gearbox, electric blowback and their new CNC aluminium hand guard. they have plans on two versions, the deluxe model coming with the vertical grip and sight included.
ARES have a dealer list online but it should be coming to your local retailer shortly by the looks of it.
Newly added to the Helikon-Tex lineup are a lovely set of coffee accessories. If you’ve ever played a weekend game or got up for that early skirmish site visit you’l know that instant coffee just doesn’t quite hit the spot. Working all hours of the day and night, I’ve tried just about every way to make a coffee short of grinding beans and soaking them through a sock. I’ve recently graduated to a minipresso that takes Nespresso capsules for out and about simply because it makes no mess (and I have a heap of pods around). That said it is hard to argue that fresh ground and filtered coffee provides the best taste on the move. Having used my own spice grinder and a portable press I can certainly vouch for the concept.
Their setup is (I hope) a burr spice style grinder, whilst the coffee cup is a very simple french press conversion of their original camp cup. Not cheap, but made well it will last a life of camping and coffee on the move. The grinder is stainless whilst the cups are anodised aluminium. I’ll touch base with Helikon Tex and see if they have any more details on their new items.

Don’t worry if you find blank pages or error messages in the news or forums occasionally, upgrades are currently in progress at the moment.
We’ll be online while the work is completed, so the odd thing will look odd while the updates are completed.
So far I’ve updated the core software to the news system which has prompted a complete rebuild of the site design. The old front page theme used deprecated code (old) which quite simply doesn’t work with the new core systems. The forums are completely rebuilt and should be working just fine.
There’s lots for me to tweak and get how we would like it and now we are finally running the new software I can get upgrades done that I’ve been meaning to do for ages. Do bear with and if you spot anything you would like changed, is obviously broken, or just feel the need to send me us email!
UPDATE 1500GMT: I’ve got a working shell up and running but we’ve got a long way to go so do bear with me. I’ve also been digging out old artwork so I can make a start on the new images for the new layout as it develops. The updates are being applied to the site whilst live to keep it all working well for everyone.

KSC have updated their STI 2011 with a few updates including a new barrel, top slide and a few design tweaks.
It’s priced at 27,500 Yen and 4,000 Yen for the spare magazines. It’s due out soon but listed as a limited run.
SRU have added photos of their PDW93 which takes the Marui M93r AEP pistol. You can purchase the full kit as well as the kit with the extra battery extension piece from their website.
I remember the 93r as my first pistol when it was launched by KSC so am rather fond of it. Now given that AEPs are miles better than when they were first launched this should prove to be quite a fun kit. Bear in mind that this is 3D “weave” printed so the plastics are not likely to be as strong as a fibre reinforced injection moulded product.
