Zeke have posted plans today of some upcoming metal frames that they have for the M945 series (from KSC) made from brass which they say will give it a weight comparible to the real thing. Frames will be made for both the compact (3 1/4in) and full frame version (3 3/4 in). Due to the development of the new brass frames/slides there is a limited stock of their aluminium M945 frame sets available.
The two main draw back to using brass for such parts are both the weight and the cost of production. What will be interesting to see is what upgrades Zeke propose for the M945 to provide adequate recoil for the slide blowback given the additional weight. The new parts are set for release on the 20th of February at the rather hefty price of 168,000Yen and it looks like there will only be 50 or so sets of both the full frame and compact version made initially.
