With the news of the M14 and UMP from Guay Guay several people have sent in more details. Mark has sent over some more news about Guay Guay’s upcoming products. Here’s the latest from him:
I’ve got some news items that all airsofters may want to hear:
1. G&G, in the Shot Show 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada has made some annoucements regarding the first few AEGs to released this year.
The M-14, as you may know, is already in a prototype stage. But sources have said that the airsoft market should expect it by March 2005.
(Updated) G&P representatives in the Shot Show 2005 event also announced that they are getting ready to develop the Colt M-16 Vietnam Version AEG. More details to come.
2. You have mentioned something about the issue of using airguns to control inmates in some local prisons in Cebu. To tell you the truth, the airsoft community in the Philippines has been divided on this issue. Half of the community thinks that it’s a good idea, while others say that it’ll just give airsoft a bad name and ruin the reputation of the Filipino community because airsoft was banned by ex-president Marcos in the late 1980’s, but we are tolerated by the Philippine National Police due to a few incidents that concern airsoft and not airsoft itself on a major scale. Let the international community be the judge of that.
Cheers mate! Mark, (aka RPG_Commando)
Jared (Gamepod Combat Airsoft, Sales) has also sent over news from him with more detail (cheers Jared). Here’s the latest from the guys there, apologies for the poor quality of the attached photo:
We wanted to get you the official info on the upcoming G&G M14 configuration, our CEO Craig Levy has just
returned from meeting with James Liao the CEO of G&G and their chief engineer Norman Hsu
(see attached picture) with the full details straight from G&G, it will be
released in March (we’ll get you the exact date as it gets closer)
and will initially be constructed using a composite stock not wood as
previously reported, expected retail will be in the neighborhood of the G&G GR4 (we’ll have the actual cost this week from G&G), the AEG uses a
completely new gearbox design with an M100 spring as the stock platform that from our inspection looks to be a very
innovative and solid design, it also will come with a 470RD hi-cap magazine.Through our partnership with G&G we will have the M14 AEG available
immediately on release as well as the absolute latest information direct
from G&G engineers, of course I will forward information as we get it.
We expect to begin taking preorders in the next couple weeks.Best regards,
Jared, (Gamepod Combat Airsoft)
