Just had word from Rob (South West War Games) about a large event that they are going to hold at Sennybridge Training Area at the end of August:
Hola, just a quick note about our forthcoming event.
Operation Black Rain. Sennybridge Training Area 30th-31st August 2008.
The Republic of Burundi has been the poorest country in the African Continent if not the World for decades and has been subject to years of ethnic and political violence.
Largely ignored by the rest of the International scene, Burundi has struggled on in its own political and economic existence.
Suddenly, America has highlighted Burundi’s plight on the international stage and pressed the hitherto disengaged UN to intervene.
Burundi’s own troops are mobilising, its neighbours are vying for position and there are strange rumours seeping from its borders of incredible findings. The tension in the capital city of Bujumbura is reaching boiling point.
Is this a Military Coup?
Is this a Humanitarian disaster?
Or is this something more sinister……….
Take your place in the future of the African region.South West Wargames are proud to host Operation Black Rain as a follow up to the successful Screasdon Fort event.
Taking place at the renowned MOD FIBUA Training area at Sennybridge in South Wales……
Places are limited to 200 players. 16years +.
The event will begin at 1200hrs Saturday and will continue through the night until 1300hrs Sunday.
Pre-booking for the event before August 1st will cost £75, booking after August 1st will cost £85 and the event will cost £100 on the gate.
We are offering a team booking system, by which if you book in a team of 10 players prior to the event, the 10th person will get in free.
To pre-book, please contact Gary Braim Mob: 07921 992450 Email: gary@swwargames.co.uk

Ian from the TA Events team has been in touch with details of a new brand of 1-day events they plan to run:
Open Warfare at Pippingford Park
TA Events takes regular skirmish games to Pippingford Park in East Sussex.
The first game is scheduled for Sunday the 20th July 2008 and is priced at £20 per player.
What is “Open Warfare”?
TA Events Open Warfare games are single day skirmish level events in a fantastic woodlands setting in East Sussex. Located on the A22 and just 15 minutes from the M23, Pippingford Park is very accessible to airsoft players in the south-east of England.
Open Warfare takes some of the MilSim elements found in the previous Town Assault and current Phoenix Rising events and makes them accessible in a more casual day of skirmishing. But there will be no “capture the flag” type skirmish games at Open Warfare. Instead there will be scenarios based on realistic miltary actions, but implemented in a way that will deliver loads of great Airsoft action throughout the day.
See below some of the key differences between the Open Warfare games and a TA Events Big Game event.
Further Information
For further information about the Open Warfare game days then visit the Open Warfare section on the TA Events website.
Or visit the Open Warfare sub-forum on the TA Events forum.

Mark from King Arms sent us the following news.
King Arms now proudly announce that we have obtained the official license for the rights to use the trademarks and logos of Colt on our KA airsoft products. Our first item for Colt will be the M4 metal body, 2 styles are available, the M4A1and M16A3. We pay lots of attention on all the detailing and finishing and we make sure everything is done perfectly. Colt markings and logo are nicely engraved on the metal body and I am sure everyone would enjoy the efforts we put in for this. Take a look at the pics I have here and appreciate this awesome piece of metal with us. Wonderful piece doesn’t always come with a huge price tag. Check your local dealer for more details.

Do you like big bags? If so Leapers (aka UTG) may well have the bag for you, the UTG 46in Web Case. It’s full of pockets and padding and looks to be compatible with UTG’s own Web System Modular Accessories. I’d post more text about the bag, but their product pages are not the easiest to grab text from. Check this link or click the image for more info.

It’s a day for events, another has hit my mailbox today:
Hi Robbie and Nick here from Gunman Airsoft, we just wanted to let you know about a series of events we shall be running, Josh will be concentrating on the D-Day and WWII events while we put our energy into cold war and modern day themed events.
Gunman Airsoft are proud to announce Operation – “Red Mist”, inspired from the events of the Soviet Union’s involvement in the civil war in Afghanistan between 1978 and 1989, and are part of the Gunman Airsoft series of Cold War Filmsim Events.
The movement by the Soviet Union into Afghanistan was viewed by both the United States and Great Britian as a move to take control of the Persian Gulf, neither countires were prepared to let this happen. But besides providing huge sums of cash and stock piles of weapons to the Mujahideen rebels who were trying to cause an uprising and the end of the communist reign in Afghanistan there was very little else that the Coalition could do. Or was there….
