Going out into the Pacific Ocean to get our own fish tacos. When buddy Dan the Man told me how he gets his fish tacos and threw out an invite I was in. A deep sea fisher from way back it was fun to get back to my roots and being in the ocean again. We got an early start in the early morning gloom and mist off Monterey Bay in his 17 foot Bayliner. The bad news was while filming the expedition the TNP Sony 550CXV camera goes douched with seawater and was ruined. The show went on, filmed entirely with my backup cameras, the GoPro Hero2 and Panasonice DMC-Ts1 waterproof systems. Conditions were rough at times; bait wasa jigged squid and anchovie. Working the kelp forests was pretty unproductive so we moved around a lot and started hitting them at around 130 feet deep. Rock fish that is…perfect for the planned dinner. Some species were released because they’re getting over fished in California. Back at Dan’s house dinner was served. Fresh Rock Fish tacos with family and friends! It doesn’t really get any better than this for living. Thanks to Dan the Man for his hospitality.

After a long time waiting after SHOT this year, it’s finally here. This is a pretty long review because I’ve gone in to a lot of detail regarding the construction of this plate carrier and I’ve not covered a few issues such as fitment of a rifle butt in to the shoulder while wearing this or the concern some people have shown for potential pressure points, but I’ll discuss those in another video.

The gloves are by Camelbak which I decided on to give a good contrast with the multicam materials when pointing out features. I know a lot of SF guys are wearing real tree patterned under armour with their combat shirt lately as well so the 2 t-shirts I’m wearing are to demonstrate the fit over multiple layers of clothing.

We have experienced some customer concerns with the installation of the battery in the G&G WASP airsoft gun causing the wires to twist around and break, so in this video, Daniel goes over the way that we suggest the battery be installed in the gun to prevent this from happening.

While I had us do some pistol engagements on rocks, there’s nothing like the honesty and immediate feedback of steel. And I always like doing some pistol work on my outings whenever possible. So at the end of ORS, the ActionTarget.com Evil Roy targets are setup and engaged. Guns are the Gen 4 Glock 17 with high Mepps on it, 3 Gen Glock 17 with Lonewolf barrel, Springfield XDM, FN Five-Seven, and somewhere along the way a Wlater P22 and Ruger SR22. We opted not to set up the Plate Rack for TCE reasons. The distant small plate was a challenge. Crew in Operation Red Skies May 2012 was Nutnfancy, Matt Skutnik from Troy Industries, and reliable PFIDude. Obviously a paratrooper wouldn’t drop out from this height, but it sure gives you a good idea of what it might be like to be hooked up to that static line right before a jump.

The Surreal Solomon Bar Bracelet is a relatively easy way to make a lateral version of the Tire Tread Bar (with the ribs crossing in parallel to one another, rather than at a slant). We hike in for some real mountain adventure…rappeling in an alpine wilderness. Accessible only through backpacking, the gear required for this expedition was daunting. Raft, dog, dog supplies, ropes, biners, figure 8, rappel gloves, duct tape (lots), FAK, MTs, Glock 26s, lighting, PVDs and all the other stuff in my mountain system. This is a serious adventure approached carefully. If not, we die. A long time "down roper," I do it right, do it safe. My mountain comps on this exciting TNP Adventure are son TacticalDoodle (carries in the heavy raft!) and intrepid Allie the Mountain Dog. The raft allows quick navigation back and forth to cliff side and is fun. Dogness swims and makes the steeps climbs with us. TacticalDoodle mans up and tackles the 60 foot cliff, his first rappel ever. Step into the wilderness with us and enjoy the sights and sounds of TNP backpacking. These dudes were not breaking the law but were treated like hardcore criminals. The fat jackboot was definitely on a power trip as evidenced by the spinning tires as he arrived and the fact that he pulled his gun on the little-bro then swaggered around like he is some sort of bad-ass. What would happen if the little-bro reached for his wallet or cell phone? Would the fat jackboot just shoot him? Why was deadly force his first choice to get his victim to submit… the little-bro was half his size!
This type of behavior happens all the time around here and I finally had a chance to record it.
I do not support this behavior, I do not support initiation or threat of violence towards peaceful people. Costumes and badges do not justify violence.

Notice they were not arrested or ticketed for anything… just violently threatened and released.

G&G A.E.G. is truly today’s "TOP OF THE LINE" A.E.G.
First Impression: For anyone that have ever seen an G&G A.E.G., have the gun and the box in hand, G&G AEG are no doubt guns with the BEST finish in terms of the external finish on the guns, material used and on their packaging. Their appearance and quality is solid. In a material comparison report showed that G&G uses MUCH higher quality material than other leading brands such as Classic Army.
Real Fire Arm History this AEG modelled after: The M14 rifle (more formally the United States Rifle, Caliber 7.62 mm, M14) is an American selective fire battle rifle firing 7.62 ? 51 mm NATO ammunition. Although largely superseded in military use by the M16 rifle, it remains in limited front line service with the United States Army, Marine Corps, and Navy. The M14 also provides the basis for the M21 and XM25 sniper rifles (not to be confused with the XM25 grenade launcher).
Internals: G&G uses more reinforcement internal parts than all leading brands. Tight bore barrel, metal bushing, reinforced piston, full metal hopup chamber, 25000rpm high torque motor, reinforced steel gear set, and reinforced gearbox are standards of all G&G AEG. (These reinforcement parts will normally cost you at least $200 or more on a Classic Army or Marui.). Which is why all G&G AEG comes with a 30 day warranty and full factory support. The manufacture stand behind their products unlike many other brands. The most important part of all, G&G internal is compatible with majority of the after market replacement and reinforced parts unlike Classic Army AEG (where most of the time you can only use cheap made in china parts exclusive manufactured by classic army).
Performance: Consistent power output. Due to the built in tight bore barrel, it is more accurate and have better grouping than AEG with stock barrel. (High quality bb such as Matrix, Excel, Marui recommended for all tight bore barrels). Great Range and power.

Conclusion: There are many great value made in China A.E.G. out there for Airsoft starters, but once you are no longer a starter and you want an A.E.G. that will last, is consistent and something that is "TOP OF THE LINE", this G&G A.E.G. is your choice. Five years ago Tokyo Marui was the "TOP OF THE LINE", but due to Japan’s regulations, they cannot have metal bodies and they do not offer reinforced internals since the power output is regulated in Japan.

The KWA CQR is one of the most anticipated guns of the year and they are here!

G&G A.E.G. is truly today’s "TOP OF THE LINE" A.E.G.
First Impression: For anyone that have ever seen an G&G A.E.G., have the gun and the box in hand, G&G AEG are no doubt guns with the BEST finish in terms of the external finish on the guns, material used and on their packaging. Their appearance and quality is solid. In a material comparison report showed that G&G uses MUCH higher quality material than other leading brands such as Classic Army.
Real Fire Arm History this AEG modelled after: The M14 rifle (more formally the United States Rifle, Caliber 7.62 mm, M14) is an American selective fire battle rifle firing 7.62 ? 51 mm NATO ammunition. Although largely superseded in military use by the M16 rifle, it remains in limited front line service with the United States Army, Marine Corps, and Navy. The M14 also provides the basis for the M21 and XM25 sniper rifles (not to be confused with the XM25 grenade launcher).
Internals: G&G uses more reinforcement internal parts than all leading brands. Tight bore barrel, metal bushing, reinforced piston, full metal hopup chamber, 25000rpm high torque motor, reinforced steel gear set, and reinforced gearbox are standards of all G&G AEG. (These reinforcement parts will normally cost you at least $200 or more on a Classic Army or Marui.). Which is why all G&G AEG comes with a 30 day warranty and full factory support. The manufacture stand behind their products unlike many other brands. The most important part of all, G&G internal is compatible with majority of the after market replacement and reinforced parts unlike Classic Army AEG (where most of the time you can only use cheap made in china parts exclusive manufactured by classic army).
Performance: Consistent power output. Due to the built in tight bore barrel, it is more accurate and have better grouping than AEG with stock barrel. (High quality bb such as Matrix, Excel, Marui recommended for all tight bore barrels). Great Range and power.

Conclusion: There are many great value made in China A.E.G. out there for Airsoft starters, but once you are no longer a starter and you want an A.E.G. that will last, is consistent and something that is "TOP OF THE LINE", this G&G A.E.G. is your choice. Five years ago Tokyo Marui was the "TOP OF THE LINE", but due to Japan’s regulations, they cannot have metal bodies and they do not offer reinforced internals since the power output is regulated in Japan.

The KWA CQR is one of the most anticipated guns of the year and they are here!

Today we have the performance test of the ECHO 1 Zombat Stryker Airsoft AEG; this is an awesome CQB M4 that, as you can see, is really packing a high rate of fire at over 1000 RPM. This would be a solid choice for any CQB player…but I would really recommend some mid caps! Buy it here:

Even the FN 17S bobbles a bit in Operation Red Skies. Nothing show stopping but a couple of FTs with brass Americal Eagle. It’s accuracy out of its 16" thin profile barrel however is excellent as PFIDude demonstates here out to 560 yards in the ORS day time Ridge Run. This is a fun and challenging course of fire testing these SAPRs especially when the wind kicks up…and it does. The Stoney Point shooting sticks rock, allowing stability on the sloping, rocky, and brushy terrain. You will see as the runs progress improvement in communication between spotter and shooter as I try to have the guys standardize the teamwork. The spotter, helping dope the shot, is indispensable especially with any misses for shot correction. PFIDude turns in 29 points for this run…to be done again at NIGHT too!

Mine was to try to save a Golden Retriever puppy who had plunged into a raging mountain runoff river. She has about a minute to survive. Here my "dogness" Allie the Mountain Dog take you to actual location where it happened, miles up a scenic mountain canyon, climbing 2300 vertical feet to get you there. The year was 2003 and this was another formative life experience for me. We sit down in the remote mountain meadow and tell you the story. Good things resulted from this harrowing experience and one of them is stitting right next to me: Allie, my mountain trained female black lab whom TNPrs have watched for years up here. I end the video with a celebration of our adventures together, treasure memories and I wish the same for you and your dogness as well. Try it, you’ll hate it. I never look at the actual backpacking part of TNP adventures as fun. It’s work and a lot of it. When do you shoot to save your life in WROL? In yet another serious and thoughtful TNP philosophy video, I can’t provide definitive answers. The situations and options you might face are too numerous to address and I’m not you. But I do provide some well thought out and value system based considerations to possible use of lethal force in Without Rule of Law situations. These choices will be very similar to ROL situations and the ROL framework provides good guidelines. Suppositions for this video are covered to lay the groundwork: the natural right of self defense and freedom, definitions of long term WROL, cessation of all critical services, possible emergence of predations, the likelihood of peaceful cooexistence in WROL, and how survival or ridiculous "Zombie apocalypse" fantasies have no place in the dealing with stark survival situations or our mindsets. Our goal is to preserve our lives, our freedom, our property, and our integrity and goodness as we work again to reestablish ROL and being GOOD in the process. We have first UNDERSTAND THE SITUATION, seeking "intel" on the situation, the people, and events that now constitute our WROL world. Who’s who? This understanding will be ongoing and ever changing and can help guide our approaches. Control rumors and fear during that process as it could lead to unnecessary violence. Don’t have over confidence in your prepartions either; once discovered you can be easily overwhelmed no matter how prepared your "cave" is. It’s best to live quietly and peaceably, working with your neighbors to get through these tough times…just like mankind has always done. EXPLORE ALTERNATIVES to use of lethal force at every turn. Is there another way to deal with the situation? Talking and non-lethal options should top the list. So should fleeing if it’s possible. As discussed here, helping establish your own Rules of Engagement might be a Neighborhood Council; this localized guidance in the face of WROL chaos can provide well-reasoned, thoughtful direction on these decisions. And yet despite a your avoidance approach, evil still may find you and you will be faced with the HARD CHOICE. You may have to go through your "unlock codes" and be forced to take the shot that will save you, your loved ones, or your neighbors. It won’t be without consequences and you won’t like them (discussed). Realities of such an encounter, the probable distances, are covered. Contrary to the portrayals by irresponsible, foolish people online and in popular culture, WROL will not be a fun free for all time to "set things straight." A long term WROL situation could be a miserable situation where millions will die simply to the loss of services, never mind any ensuing violence. Your value system, whatever it is, is ultimately your guiding force and should be durable, unwaivering, and sure. Were you honorable, did you serve others, did you avoid conflict whenever possible, and can your decisions withstand the scrutiny of any ROL councils that may convene later? I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again: there is no replacement for real world testing…and that’s not at the range apparently. This project gun, a mostly DPMS LR-308 ran well at the range for Matt from Troy Industries but it goes down hard on the Ridge in Operation Red. Matt’s an excellent shot with solid fundamentals so accuracy isn’t the problem… reliability is. Probably an undersized gas port on this non-standard barrel but I’m not sure. Most of the .308 guns did have issues, mostly minor issues. But this Franken DPMS had to be retired as continually failed to cycle. Once again, a project gun fails in the drills and I would never go to war with one unless thoroughly vetted. Finally I’d seen enough and have Matt finish the run with my spotter rifle, the M1A Scout Squad which allowed him to get solid points. Also notable was Matt’s choice of optics, an 8x power Horus 3 gun scope which was near useless in the fading light, unable to gather the light and allow target identification, especially at 8x. The lessons never end here in TNP, especially under RED SKIES.//////////////////////////// This ORS run finishes with 24 pts leaving me plenty of room for improvement.

This gun failed in Operation Red Skies, SAPR testing. It is NOT a factory DPMS rifle however, it’s a project gun of Matt’s with mostly DPMS parts. At first we thought it might be the mags, it wasn’t. It’s under gassed. With brass it ran better, with steel Russian Tula it ran poorly. A discussion by PFIDude seems to indicate it’s how Matt was holding the gun; that really wasn’t the issue. Matt informed me after the shoot that he suspects the gas port on the Remington produced, chrome lined barrel (not standard for LR-308) is undersized. Nevertheless, as we’ve seen many times in TNP, this gun fell on its face in real world shooting once again proving to me a factory produced rifle with a warranty is always a safer bet. You can spent a lot of TIME and money troubleshooting a project gun (I’ve done it too). Swapping out handguards, grips, and stocks is a safe bet but squirreling together key components like barrel, firing mechanisms, carrier, bolt, buffers, springs, etc take you squarely into "you’re on your own" territory. With so many perfectly outfitted factory guns, why bother? Matt used the TNP M1A Scout Squad and his the Troy M14 in later drills.

With about 12.5 MOA of adjustment I was ready for the 550 yard shot, downhill. Double check the spin with spotter. Slow and steady trigger press, hoping the 147 grain FMJ Radway Green L2A2 bullet’s not deflected by the tree branches near the target. Thwack…connected. With Matt and PFI running camera and spotter duties I start of the daylight runs on ORS.At times this day light M1A "Ridge Run" in OPERATION RED SKIES came together. Other times, like on the cross-valley 225 yard plates, I had some problems, not really confident in my windage holds (15 mph crosswind). The TNP M1A Scout Squad carries the excellent Burris Fullfield II 6.5x20x50 1" tube in a 4th Gen S.A. mount; stable and secure throughout testing. Springfield Armory did a trigger job on this one and it helps at the longer ranges. Again we see the ultra usefulness of the Stoney Point Shootin’ Stix, providing real stability for otherwise impossible shots in the rocky terrain on side slopes. The systems runs well here and I’d go to war with it. "Ridge Run "Stages are spread between TWO desert valleys with the last two shooting points requiring a healthy jog to get there. Heart rate up makes the shots tougher. In Ridge Run points are awarded simply: 1 pt per hit under 400 yds, 2 pts beyond 400 yds, 7 targets attempted with 5 shots each. I take a look at the new APS Hakkotsu trip wire grenade. I take a look at this über cool trip wire grenade. This device expels a 130+ decibel ‘bang’ when it goes off so care needs to be used in the placement of this device – i.e. preferably outdoors or on the outside of entry/exit points of buildings.

As the Title says, this is version one.. I will try to get video from this setup this weekend and share with you all.. If it sux, I will scrap the project, if it works, I will improve it..

Chances are the knife in your pocket is dull. Really dull. I know because I’ve seen it! But like automobile maintenance, keeping your blades in top operation form should be a priority. Otherwise it will let you down when you might really need it. I start off the vid by showing you my own medium capability hand sharpening skill on a SOG Gov-Tac. It’s ranks about a 6 out of 10 for impressiveness. But not the Edge Pro Apex sharpener. This is a solid 10, the best sharpener I’ve ever found. The EPA is a compact and easy to taking along manual sharpening system that REALLY works. Much hype has accompanied other sharpeners and I’ve been disappointed in each one on most levels. They don’t’ come close to the capabilities of this one. Here I take you for the sharpening ride with the awesome Microtech SOCOM, somewhat dulled after TNP cutting tests. With its S35V steel, it’s a perfect test bed for this exercise. Covered in this reference Nutnfancy vid: philosophy on sharpening (and the sometimes elitist controversy that surrounds it), setup, sharpening angles, technique and practice, stone selections, gotcha’s, and the many upsides to the Edge Pro Apex. Once practiced you will find you can get "in and out" of the EPA quickly and will simply be astounded with the results (shown in detail here). It has the ability to sharpen small, very large, flexible, curved, and even serrated knives with the proper technique. Reference the www.edgeproinc.com website for more video instructions by the US inventor himself, Ben Dale (also at phone 541-387-2222). This is also where I recommend buying this $245 Edge Pro Apex 4 kit btw…tell him Nutnfancy sent ya’! Yes that is a sizable sum for a sharpener but value is delivered here: US produced, durable construction, and most importantly, you will produce edges on this easy to use machine that have previously eluded you.
