Few places like this exist it seems. Where you can actually be in no-kidding Alpine wilderness and yet see the city lights below. Making the higher mountain lake in the snow with time available is an impossibility. Temps had plummeted and the night sky is alive with a crisp clarity that keeps us awestruck. We are reluctant to go down as we take it in but it grows late, 930pm to be exact, and Crocket awaits below. We get underway following my 2003 GPS track in heavy snow that hides the trail. This route is longer but avoids the bushwhack that vexed us on our ascent. Camp provides some entertainment as he adapts to the steep descent on deep snow…trust those steel cleats on the MSR Denalis and the trekking poles or risk death! (ok I made up that last part). My nighttime navigation with the Garmin GPS60x leads us true over the ridge and back to base camp though Campfiretalk seemed to have his doubts. Crocket did a great job with the fire that greets the return. Some farting ensues and I for once ain’t a player in the game. I’m glad Allie and I didn’t have to bunk with those guys. Morning breaks with llamas outside the tent. I plan some camp fun with the .22 bolt gun and we love the sunny morning.

Guys this video is to announce my drastic move to have Rx managed by a nationally known airsoft retailer. I simply don’t have the time to build or run the AirsoftRX name. So I approached one of my distributors that runs and maintains several airsoft businesses about doing reviews. I informed them about how I was feeling about the website and that I was currently opening a local Hydrographics shop and that running the business was becoming difficult due to my time constraints and my personal health. I made it clear that I would keep my accounts open. That’s when the flood gates opened. We decided that they would operate the Rx website maintain it and I will step into the role of spokesman and review outlet. While still retaining the company interests I had before. This retailer is well known and very reliable. It is not a youtuber no marek delta1 or lol ncman. And not megastore or airsplat. I have no confidence in any of them. Not a bad thing just not want I want to put my hard work into. So buy with confidence and often. Stay ruined because I will be doing all the promotional work as well as the reviews with Rx.

This is a short video demonstrating how you can easily change a sites location on the map (if for example the postcode doesn’t quite reflect where the actual site is etc) using the drag and drop locations feature.

Run hard, shoot straight. In my "Lion Heart Drill" in the snow, we take shots at AT steel with some WW II combat classics, gaining experience in the type and learning how to do it better. First up is the amazing M1 Garand again: just as capable now as it was in 1942. This one is the CMP Special, a backbone TNP test gun now with over 1500 rounds through it. Those aperture sights are a favorite and the gun’s accuracy is demonstrated well here. Bryan Hood from Gunnies is my assistant on the bright, sunny, and yet snowy shoot as we take it through the challenging course. Joining in along the way will be various handguns and the some other classics like a German Mauser K98 and Springfield M1903. Most challenging are our shots at the 150 target unsupported and standing to gain extra points. These battle rifles hit the steel hard and with authority, dominating our usual .223 players in my courses. I see again why I love the Smith and Wesoon 1911s again…right up until I shoot the 1911SC which dials down my mojo. From 10" round Evil Roy plates to the ActionTarget plate rack, Lion Heart provides some fast and engaging shooting in the high desert. Basically, KWA did to the USP what they did to the Glock and streamlined it to make it ultra-sleek and ultra-awesome. Actually, the HK45 is a real firearm, and is amazing, as a matter of fact.

Travis Haley and Ron Avery show another variation of the Trigger Stripe Drill.

In conjunction with IDS Sports of Jacksonville, 3-Gun Nation provided scoreboard technology at the first 3GN Pro Series event held at the Ancient City Shooting Range in St. Augustine, Florida. This real-time scoring technology allowed competitors to see where they stood in the rankings as the match progressed — and how fast they needed to shoot the final stage in order to take home the victory.

Travis Haley and Ron Avery talk about the Science behind shooting. In this Drill Ron talks about trigger control during cadence fire and muscle specificity.

The KWA CQR series will include two models: the CQR Mod 1 and the CQR Mod 2. Due to velocity limits at indoor arenas, the CQR series is designed to fire at lower velocities, maximizing safety during close quarter engagements. The lower receiver of a CQR series rifle will be constructed with fiber reinforced polymers for weight savings. Initial Look & Feel:
Solid, durable and realistic. Everything you’d expect for great value. Matte black finish. 1:1 scale to a real steel M4 Carbine. Nice logo. Expect more and spoil yourself today.

Performance:
Air Seal: The Matrix M4 shoots an average of 30~50 FPS higher than most other brands with the same spring installed. Which means it has superb air seal and energy efficient. Less work on the Motor and Gear only means a more durable AEG.
Accuracy: With 6.04mm tight bore barrel already installed, it is also much more accurate than any other M4 AEG under $120.
Reliability: This AEG is completed with all Matrix parts, resulting the best factory direct value per dollar in the market. The very popular complete gearbox from Matrix is retailed for $110, and it is rated one of the best gearbox by skilled technicians. The firing is smooth and the rate of fire is great with good accuracy and range.

Stress Test:
Upon receiving the first batch, our technician fired 10,000 rounds (35 m4 hicap / 11.1V 1350mah Lipoly battery) on randomly selected five Matrix Tactical Systems M4 and the result was amazing. Each gun test was completed within 1 hour to really "stress test" these AEG. After the first 5000 round within the hour, the motor starts to get warm, and gets pretty hot by the 35th hi-cap. One anti-reversal latch broke during the stress test. To those that the above statements makes any sense to, this AEG is more durable and stable than most we have seen. It is more "Lipoly Ready" than any AEG out there, however, we still recommend only experienced gamers to use li-poly, as the gaming advantage comes with responsibilities.

We took a look at a replica of Polish assault rifle Beryl wz.93 made by Ares in cooperation with the real steel producer, Fabryka Broni Łucznik Radom.

Making Everest base camp with llamas. Ok, not quite. But mountains, snow, and a llama team make for another original Nutnfancy Project adventure, reminenscent of epic old school high mountain adventures. It seems like an approach to Base Camp in Nepal as we rely upon the the "boys" that are our llamas Rama, Casper, and Windstar to haul most of our gear to the snow line. Crocket20 and TNP guest Campfiretalk are my comps on the trek. Crocket’s bad back prompted my getting of the llamas to save this trip. Their home seems appropriate for this type of adventure. Hailing from the Sri Sri Radha Krishna Temple, these llamas have personality and moxie. We journey up steep slopes with mountain veteran Allie the Mountain Dog who again impresses us with her prowess in snowy rough terrain. But they are not invincible and we soon find their limitations as the snow deepens. Deep snow threatens to break the legs of the "boys" so I have us make base in a mountain basin, adventuring from there. Allie and the llamas become fast friends. An ever talkative CF and I do a hard 1,200 ft elevation snow shoe and bushwhack to a higher meadow where the temperature plummets and the snow gets even deeper. Stunning night time skies greet us against the blue spruce skyline. From the mountain ridge on the way down we stand in awe at the city lights below. A long snow shoe descent is necessary to make the llama base camp by 10 pm where a fire and our tents await. The llamas are at ease in the camp but miss grazing due to season. Sun breaks on the next day and kinfe testing and some .22 plinking ensues with the crew; I always stay busy. It’s time to head down and it seems the descent is even more precarious than the ascent and some lose their gear on the way down…ooops. The adventures ends too quickly it seems. This will be the first ever official Airsoft GI Iron Sight Pistol Challenge. This will be a bracket-style competition in which 32 shooters will be separated into pairs and will go head to head with each other to see who can take down the targets the fastest. The winners in each pair will move on to the next round and this will continue until a winner has been crowned. The winner will receive 80% of the total pot raised by entry fees, and the 2nd place runner up will receive 20%. The competition will take place on Saturday April 28th, each entry is just $5, and the competition will begin promptly at 12:00 noon.

Testing the Marlin Papoose .22 pack rifle, demonstrating, signaling, and knife work in the beautiful snowy mountains. Sun continues to shine. The little Marlin again proves its worth as a food getter up here: accurate and reliable, even with bulk ammo. It would take down fowl or even a deer in survival situations. Impressive targets result with the help of the Weaver 4x rimfire scope. Allie and I trek deeper in treeline and gather wood…the hard way. Hacking down a couple of standing dead wood trees with heavy blades. It’s not enjoyable and I hate it but it sometimes good to do for testing purposes. Enough fooling around: the Sawvivor comes out and makes short work of the cross cuts. It’s harder doing all the work alone. Against the stunning mountain backdrop I talk blades and do some batoning. Constructing a drying rack is demoed by me next to the firepit, a request by a TNPr last year. Pretty simple stuff but it works and works well. I’m tired and we still have to hike out. As the sun dips behind the peaks, we wrap up another TNP mountain adventure and say so long to the Jeremiah Johnson lifestyle for now. I was going to sit on this video until the review. But I had such a fun time re-watching it, I thought you might too. So here TacticalDoodle and myself take out a World War II era Inland M1 Carbine for the first time. The video is raw footage, few cuts. The barrel on this M1 Carbine is not in great shape but it shoots well. A couple of misfeeds occur; maybe a new recoil spring is in order on this war veteran. The ActionTarget.com targets provide big fun and excellent challenge as the desert wind kicks up in this very basic edit TNP video.

This is a thick slab of D2 steel dressed in classic drop point form. The Vox Rold is a beautiful, heavy duty medium sized fixed blade ready for tactical, outdoor, and camp knife POUs. My testing focused on the Rold’s wilderness capabilities. It performed well in splitting, whittling, and chopping exercises in a high altitude, snowy environment. The blade shape is perfection: a strong tip, full flat grind, nice gradual relief edge, topside traction miling, good belly, and a forward finger choil for choking. It will slash, stab, and split well. The black G10 handle is comfortable and elegant with a double taper. The scales are non-removable but the handle features large rivet tubes, designer Jesper Voxnaes’ trademark in some of his larger blades. These lighten the handle, look good, and allow easy lanyard attachment. Balance is excellent as is the overall feel of the Rold. For a 6 1/8" blade, the weight is substantial at about 14.8 ounces but again this is a stout blade. For weight comparisons several other stainless steel fixed blade options in the same category (more or less) are shown. The bead blasted D2 steel arrives extremely sharp in this Chinese produced Boker Plus blade It shows impressive edge holding after substantial woodwork; it might be a little tough to sharpen and rust with neglect but I didn’t see any of those problems. The Kydex sheath is superb albeit somewhat heavier than plastic varieties. It locks the Rold extremely tight, has a drain hole, and retains no water. The include Tek-Lok in this version adds about 2 ounces. Value is excellent and you’re getting basically a production version of a Jesper V. custom knife. Overall this is a tough, sharp, versatlle, and good looking mid-sized blade from Boker. If you really get out in the woods or the mountains, you will have the need to cut wood. Especially when it rains or snows. In those conditions, the dry wood often resides in the middle of logs, obtained from standing dead wood. If you’re traveling by pack animal or vehicie, you’ll have more options available to you. But if you’re backpacking it all in yourself and you want something that works, take a SAWVIVOR backpacking saw. Cross cutting with axe or other human powered device pales in comparison in terms of energy expended and speed. Experienced outdoorsman will always have an appreciaton for TCE. Proven over ten years in use, this 9.4 ounce saw cross cuts even stubborn wood with speed. Bulit of rectangular aluminum tubing and having a rectangular format, the Sawvivor falls big wood and cuts it up into usable pieces. It has been rugged and reiiable. Use WD-40 on the blade to speed up the cuts and keep the blade rust free in the snow, slush, and rain. I still find it still holds advantage over all other portable saw systems like the UST Sabre Cut, Chainmate chain saw type saws, folding saws of all types, or even similar frame saws like the 18 oz Wyoming or Sven Saws. Compared against these systems, it cuts better, faster, easier with less energy, and its lighter and more comfortable to use. Available in two sizes, I run the 15" version and it seems to get it done up there, shown in many outings for years in TNP (and here). The foam handle will twist when it gets wet and shred over time; the aluminum tubing will dent, and the blade will loosen with use (keep it tight!). But the Sawvivor has kept on trucking and cutting, faster and lighter than any other option I’ve ever used. Joker of Black Ops Elite tests out a new innovation that BoE is working on. It’s a spring powered SMAW rocket launcher. It uses a large piston/cylinder similar to an AEG. This video is of the initial range testing, and was done while firing INTO the wind . Range was approximately 300 feet on average, up to 400 if angled properly.
The main benefit to this system is not only relatively quick reloading time, but vastly superior consistency from shot to shot (read accuracy) versus any green gas, co2 or propane launcher. This means optics CAN and SHOULD be used , with great effect.
Not only do you not have to fill and carry inherently inconsistent MOSCART grenades to use as a propellant, you don’t have to BUY the grenades! All you need is the launcher and your rockets.
The prototype shown obviously has not been cosmetically finished, as there is no rocket tube, marking rifle or optics. Weight as shown in video is 12lbs. even. Anticipated final weight to be just under 15 lbs. including 6 rockets.
This model will most likely be used mainly as a field prop for scenario games, but it could be slung and carried as well.
We will be field testing the completed prototype in a few weeks, check back for video on that.

Tokyo Marui is the pioneer of current airsoft technology. Without their integration of the gear box in to the TM FAMAS in 1992 it’s highly unlikely that airsoft would be as big as it is right now. Even twenty years later they are still innovating and offering never before seen new products to the airsoft market. Although Tokyo Marui may not be very popular in the United States they are still alive and well and still producing some of the highest quality airsoft guns in the world.

The final version of my first professional film! It stands as a landmark for Basho films. I have learned more about Sony Vegas, filmmaking and special effects from this project than I could have ever imagined. The background to the film is what is known as "milsim" or "Military Simulation".

EVENT OUTLINE:
These events encompass the highest level of Military Simulation and Attendees were tested to a level unprecedented in airsoft, sustaining — hardship, duress, a lack of sleep and a lack of food for 36hours.

Attendees received initial orders prior to the operation and were required to begin the event outside of an airsoft environment. Tasks included professional training in surveillance, followed by going to a designated place and identifying a group of Targets. Surveillance of those Targets then commenced using covert communication equipment and vehicles, following on foot when required.

But then something they didn’t expect happened!

Late at night the Target’s turned the tables and captured two of the Attendees in a well-planned road stop. They were taken to the Target’s compound and tested for resistance to interrogation. Upon the discovery of this the Attendees then planned, practiced and executed a rescue operation in the early hours of the morning calling on all they had learned in the training and previous day’s play. Could they rescue their teammates alive and capture the Target leader?

ABOUT THE FILM:
Tier 1 partnered with the well known airsoft filmmaker and blogger, Basho (www.outsidecontext.com), in making this film. Basho followed the day’s events as a silent observer capturing the main events of the event on camera.

When Ed from Tier 1 asked me to attend the event as a filmmaker I was not ready for what I was about to witness. Tier 1 is about as far from a normal airsoft skirmish that you could get and the "Sub Operations" take this even further. The entire event had a story through which the clients were playing. The idea was that a "terrorist" cell had been discovered and that their leader was coming in to Heathrow. The clients mission was to follow these targets and intercept them in the morning. However, unknown to them Ed had other ideas and one of the squads vehicles was stopped and the clients captured, which involved me hiding in a bush with a load of masked gunmen waiting for the right car to pass! There followed a couple of hours of interrogation followed by a rescue by the other, remaining, players.

It all felt so real, so very real. Nothing was forgotten, nothing was not part of the story unfolding.

It was very clever.

It did have challenges for the filmmaker however. I was not "in" on the story so I was forced to film everything and ended up with 60Gb of footage! I had to improvise filming ideas at short notice and tag along with the teams as they played out their different missions. I also had to go without much sleep for 36 hours! the tired faces you see in the film are really tired. It was incredible how everyone was able to keep going through the event at all.

That leads us to sound and music.

For sounds I raided Freesound.org for suitable sounds and ended up using something like 20 in places such as the tires screeching during "The Grab" scene (they did screech but my camera mike didn’t make enough of it) and "clanking" noises during "The Question" interrogation scene. I can’t recommend this site enough. Good sound effects makes a huge difference. For music I went to my friends at Audionetwork.com. They are truly fantastic, enabling the small filmmaker to use music created by seriously high-end orchestra for a mere pittance. Wonderful.

It has been a very long road to get this film finished, but it feels great to have been involved with the Tier 1 team who are all consummate professionals. Their product is a little different from what people may be used to, but it is excellently run and great fun to watch.

Tokyo Marui is the pioneer of current airsoft technology. Without their integration of the gear box in to the TM FAMAS in 1992 it’s highly unlikely that airsoft would be as big as it is right now. Even twenty years later they are still innovating and offering never before seen new products to the airsoft market. Although Tokyo Marui may not be very popular in the United States they are still alive and well and still producing some of the highest quality airsoft guns in the world.

The final version of my first professional film! It stands as a landmark for Basho films. I have learned more about Sony Vegas, filmmaking and special effects from this project than I could have ever imagined. The background to the film is what is known as "milsim" or "Military Simulation".

EVENT OUTLINE:
These events encompass the highest level of Military Simulation and Attendees were tested to a level unprecedented in airsoft, sustaining — hardship, duress, a lack of sleep and a lack of food for 36hours.

Attendees received initial orders prior to the operation and were required to begin the event outside of an airsoft environment. Tasks included professional training in surveillance, followed by going to a designated place and identifying a group of Targets. Surveillance of those Targets then commenced using covert communication equipment and vehicles, following on foot when required.

But then something they didn’t expect happened!

Late at night the Target’s turned the tables and captured two of the Attendees in a well-planned road stop. They were taken to the Target’s compound and tested for resistance to interrogation. Upon the discovery of this the Attendees then planned, practiced and executed a rescue operation in the early hours of the morning calling on all they had learned in the training and previous day’s play. Could they rescue their teammates alive and capture the Target leader?

ABOUT THE FILM:
Tier 1 partnered with the well known airsoft filmmaker and blogger, Basho (www.outsidecontext.com), in making this film. Basho followed the day’s events as a silent observer capturing the main events of the event on camera.

When Ed from Tier 1 asked me to attend the event as a filmmaker I was not ready for what I was about to witness. Tier 1 is about as far from a normal airsoft skirmish that you could get and the "Sub Operations" take this even further. The entire event had a story through which the clients were playing. The idea was that a "terrorist" cell had been discovered and that their leader was coming in to Heathrow. The clients mission was to follow these targets and intercept them in the morning. However, unknown to them Ed had other ideas and one of the squads vehicles was stopped and the clients captured, which involved me hiding in a bush with a load of masked gunmen waiting for the right car to pass! There followed a couple of hours of interrogation followed by a rescue by the other, remaining, players.

It all felt so real, so very real. Nothing was forgotten, nothing was not part of the story unfolding.

It was very clever.

It did have challenges for the filmmaker however. I was not "in" on the story so I was forced to film everything and ended up with 60Gb of footage! I had to improvise filming ideas at short notice and tag along with the teams as they played out their different missions. I also had to go without much sleep for 36 hours! the tired faces you see in the film are really tired. It was incredible how everyone was able to keep going through the event at all.

That leads us to sound and music.

For sounds I raided Freesound.org for suitable sounds and ended up using something like 20 in places such as the tires screeching during "The Grab" scene (they did screech but my camera mike didn’t make enough of it) and "clanking" noises during "The Question" interrogation scene. I can’t recommend this site enough. Good sound effects makes a huge difference. For music I went to my friends at Audionetwork.com. They are truly fantastic, enabling the small filmmaker to use music created by seriously high-end orchestra for a mere pittance. Wonderful.

It has been a very long road to get this film finished, but it feels great to have been involved with the Tier 1 team who are all consummate professionals. Their product is a little different from what people may be used to, but it is excellently run and great fun to watch.
