Apologies for the odd random error lately. There’s been a couple of issues. First a switch blew at our host’s data centre causing a brief period of outage while things rerouted themselves.
We’ve also had an automated backup service setup which caused problems this morning. We’ve had the technicians setup an automated backup system that keeps a copy of the site and database on a different drive elsewhere so that we are covered in case of any potential crash.
Unfortunately there’s no easy way to do this without slowing the server down, so it’s now set to run at around 0400 GMT. The database will lock out for a brief period and this will mean that at some point for a few minutes at around 0400GMT it will chuck out an error if you try to visit a page.
Sadly I don’t know of any other way to get around this at this time but a few options look to be available. Just wanted to keep you guys informed of what was going on.
