FarEast was lucky enough to attend Black Hole Show that was on over the weekend and sent over a heap of photos (and a video) of the new products including shots of the new TM M14. Not to be outdone he’s also included a complete write up everything else he went to see. Here’s all the content he sent over (cheers bud). Content can also be found in the forums:
Black Hole show 2005: Well its that time of year again and its the summer event, not only am I eager to get down to Tokyo to get some good deals but rumor has it that several manufacturers will be displaying their latest goods and this time I was not disappointed!
The usual masses of retailers and second hand dealers were there today and I was very impressed with the Real Steal stand, all weapons have been decommissioned, but the amount of weaponry they had on display was impressive M16, MP5s, AUGs and even a FAMAS! It was a great opportunity to get a comparison between the real deal and the imitation.
Now as I said before some of the major manufactures were there today, which resulted in a huge price crash as retailers and manufactures tried to out price each other one such bargain I was happy to walk away with was a G&G A2/A3 metal body which normally goes for around 18,000Yen (90UKP or 160USD) but managed to get for 9000Yen which is (45UKP or 80USD) and again due to the amount of competition the prices of the guns were ridiculously cheap.
The next stop was over to the trade tents to take a look to see if they had any sneak previews of any forth coming releases, I was not disappointed having given G&G my hard earned cash for the MP5 metal body I asked in hush tones about the forth coming release of the UMG, taking one look at my camera and the fact I was the only westerner in the building he asked if I was press.before I even knew what I was saying the words Yes, Im here for Arnies Airsoft escaped my lips. I was taken round the back of the main stand were on a table they had a fully working version, although it is still in its early stages.
Now straight away the thing that hit me was how solid this gun is, no creaking and wobbles which seem to be a high priority of manufactures today and also the high quality finish that we have come to expect from G&G. Also they had the Mark II of their M14 rifle with modified trigger its no longer heavy and responds very nicely.
Next stop was the Tokyo Marui area and pulling the same thing again I was able to get a look at the much anticipated M14, all I can say is stop the press! This has to be the BEST gun TM has ever released.
The M14 is full metal straight from the book, its solid with absolutely no creaking what so ever the finish is to die for as well and the detail is just perfect right down to sounds of the metal parts working on each other, just check out the video and youll see what I mean.
The other excellent thing is the amount of accessories available by TM on the release date (Which is Monday 9th August for those who are still arguing over itand thats JAPAN so you guys might have to wait a little longer) Youll be able to buy High Cap and Mid cap magazines right from the go and also a range of scopes and mounts specifically designed for the M14.
Also on display they had some display models of upgrades for the Glock and Hi Cap range of guns and also the recently released M93R.
The Black Hole Show is a brilliant venue held several times a year and I recommend anyone in Japan or planning to come over to arrange you visit to Tokyo when the show is on as not only will you be able to see future products but also pick up huge bargains while your at it! FarEast
